Serpent stone

A stone found in Ursand with larger quantities in southern Ursand but it can be found anywhere in the frozen realm. This stone while difficult to work with at times is prized in many places but especially in Ursand as Serpent Stone generates its own heat when in the cold, the colder it gets the warmer the stone gets. For this trait, it is used in roads and some building construction the latter being for more important buildings and those that build above ground.
Mining and using Serpent Stone is tricky it has a grain to it that when properly used makes the stone very strong (against the grain) but it can break apart rather easily with the grain. This grain is in serpentine patterns and looks like the belly scales of a snake.

Similar to shale in texture and appearnce save for the distinct 'serpent' pattern grain.

Physical & Chemical Properties

When exposed to cold temperatures the stone produces its own heat, this heat doesn't travel far but can be used to help warm when used with many stones together.

Southern Ursand has large quarries of Serpent Stone but can be found anywhere in Ursand.

Origin & Source

It is believed to be the result of the Temple of The Dawn King in southern Ursand that the Dawn King is giving the people of Ursand a helpful tool to allow them to survive easier.
