Rhyderian Knightly Orders

There a many groups of knights in Rhyderia most exist as direct servants to a Duke and the King. Not every knight fits into that setup and there are six major knight orders of Rhyderia that most knights seek to join. They are The Shining Knights of Sobeyr, Order of the Blazing Sword, Order of the Radiant Shield, Order of the Silver Wolf, Order of Rhyderia, and the Knights of The Court.

The Shining Knights of Sobeyr

The crème de la crème of the Rhyderian Knights code of chivalry, these are the chosen of the Platinum Knight, more so the name the Living god, Sobeyr. The god of chivalry and honor demands that these knights be steadfast beacons of moral rightness that must never compromise even when the whole world stands against them, if their cause is just it is worth standing for. A religious order dedicated to the Platinum Knight through Sobeyr. They are based in the reconstructed Fort Arvala in Rhyderia. They are the most virtuous and chivalrous of people to exist anywhere. Majority of their membership is made of paladins dedicated to the codes of the Platinum Knight, though they also have clerics as part of the order. They are not related to the Silver Order.   Fort Arvala is the major church to Sobeyr and the Platinum Knight also has clerics, pilgrims, and just common folk coming through. The actual count of Shining Knights is low, but many knights of Rhyderia aspire to join them, the current King Hartmut Stricker was released from the Shining Knights to become the King.

Order of the Blazing Sword

The knights of the Blazing Sword are the parent order to the the Silver Order who focus on a wider array of creatures and situations while the Order of the Blazing sword are specialized as undead hunters. Many of their ranks are paladins to the Dawn King and Arbiter, they also employ a large number of clerics to both those gods, As such fight mostly against the followers of the Blightbringer. They are also known to stand vigil among the various towns of Rhyderia when a Harrowing occurs.

Order of The Radiant shield

An offshoot of the Shining Knights of Sobeyr but in no way are they lesser in image. The Order of the Radiant Shield focuses heavily on defensive trainings, their favored equipment is heavy armor and a wide shield. They are also trained on how to defend themselves and their charges from well-made forts to open fields. They are also trained in the rigors of noble society and are always expected to act with utmost honor prestige. They are Knights who have sworn to protect those who need protection and stand as steadfast bulwarks for their charges. The Order of The Radiant Shield is more for those who are not blessed with divine powers but who would qualify for the Shining Knights of Sobeyr otherwise.

Order of The Silver Wolf

The Rhyderian Knightly order that is made of primarily lycanthropes with a few non-lycanthrope members, usually in the form of squires made of those seeking to become a lycanthrope. They are generalists focusing their efforts on many fields of study and practice, not only martial. They are often looked down on by most posh and sophisticated nobles as savage and uncivilized, they are well known to care little for higher society and would rather spend an evening in a tavern than at a stuffy ball. Perhaps one of the more beloved orders by the people of Rhyderia as they are fierce warriors who look out for the little guy.   Order of Rhyderia These Knights are those who are unpledged to one of the orders and have gotten their Knighthood in very uncommon circumstances, normally for a lowborn or outsider to become a Knight in Rhyderia they must join one of the orders and eventually rise to the rank. Those of the Order of Rhyderia have demonstrated immense strength of character and nobility to elevate them above the rest of Rhyderia. This is often a posthumous recognition of honor, but there have been members who live long lives after earning the prestigious title.   Knights of the Court Knights of the Courts is made up of Half Elves who can trace their ancestry back to those original pairings. Any Half-Elf presented to a Knight of Courts will ask them their station, if they don’t have an answer it reveals them to be uninitiated and the Knight will seek to correct this. The Knights of the Courts welcome all Half-Elves into their ranks, it is seen more as a secondary family or in some cases their only family. Joining them adds a secondary Surname to the Half-Elf. In a fashion equal to Adariss Volltar Court, job. The job is in reference to their role in the order, this could be squire, artisans or whatever their role in the order is. This role can change as the Half-Elf proves themselves and seeks advancement.
