Levari Kobolds

Within Savorah there are two types of kobold, the Xolnite kobolds who joined the Draz Tyran early in history. Then there are the ones who refused the dragon's offer. Before the offer the kobolds were a nomadic people living on the back of Bostrasaur with small communities that dedicated themselves to farming to help feed the migrating Bostrasaur during winters.   After the species split there was a large rift between the two, community was important to both factions. The Levari kobolds, those who remained in their ways saw the Xolnite kobolds as those who had fallen under the sway of the dragons. This would only fester as future interactions saw the Levari see the Xolnite kobolds growing bigger, more draconic, and living longer with each generation. While the Levari were left in this society as they were the Xolnite's were rapidly developing both culturally and physically. The Levari would come to the conclusion that they no longer wanted to live within Xalandis anymore, tensions had begun to rise between the two groups as the mistrust of the Xolnite grew as they changed. It was hard for the Levari to see the Xolnite as kobold anymore, and that affected their relationships. The Xolnite was not free of blame either, but it was the Levari who acted first by leaving.   Unfortunately for the Levari they didn't know what that would mean. As they stayed away from the dragons affairs they didn't realize it was also the dragons who had helped secure the safety of Xalandis. When they began to roam they had to deal with the dangerous world on their own. After countless setbacks the Levari chose to send two groups in different directions to try and find a new start. The first would head into the mountains to make a living in the stone away from the dangers of the surface world. The second would go into the Emerald Cove Jungle, which at this point was a normal jungle.   This is the last time the Levari as they were would ever be together, for both expeditions would fall prey to other forces. To those who traveled to the mountains they became what most think of now as a kobold. Cave dwelling vermin who use traps to offset their small size against intruders. This change was not gentle as their new homes were inhospitable to the Bostrasaur and put the kobolds at risk of orc and goblin attacks, while the orcs themselves could not easily fight in the kobold caverns the goblins could. Eventually the kobolds turned to ever more elaborate traps to deal with intruders while also digging deeper into the ground. when the tribe became too large for the single dwelling to sustain they would split the numbers to find new areas to call home and set trade between the two where possible. It was a meager living far from the life they used to live. Then the Dark Age came, the fall of the old Draz Tyran also brought on the Vortalon who would occupy the same mountains and caves the kobolds would. While their ancestors sought to escape the influence of dragons, the Vortalon found them and in their cruelty enslaved every kobold they could find living in the mountains. They were not the only slaves of the Vortalon but as they were the ancestors of those who had refused dragons they would suffer more heavily than the rest.   Those who went into the jungle, little and less is known about their fate. It is assumed they were devoured by the beasts of the jungle or fell prey to the lizardmen or other hostile powers.
