Isquarra

The placid death, Goddess of the seas, the Void hearted mistress, The Siren Queen.

Work in Progress

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral   Portfolio: Oceans, deceit, deep water, sea monsters   Worshippers: Merfolk, sailors, travelers, Naga, Anrasha   Alignments: NE, N, CN   Weapon: Kraken - Trident   Isquarra is a capricious being as beautiful and dangerous as the waters she holds dominion over. She is often depicted as the queen of Sirens, given the allure of the ocean to the hearts of mortals and how dangerous it truly it. All ports, even small fishing docks have at least some form of shrine to honor Isquarra in hopes to have a safe journey on the water. Sailors make up the largest portion of her following, but she is also very popular with the Anrasha and Naga as both races have a strong connection to the water. Beyond just controlling the seas she is said to be the goddess responsible for sea monsters and all the horrors that reside in the deep dark waters, this has earned her the title of the Void hearted mistress as people think she has some connection to Gulrahdur, the only connection she has is their mutual hatred of each other.

Holy Books & Codes

Winds and Tides   This is a small book that can fit in the pocket of a sailor within it contains the various prayers and rites someone going onto the ocean should offer to Isquarra to have a safe journey as well as some warning signs to look for to see if she is angered, such as sky color over the ocean, storms, and even how rough the ocean is. Many captains will add pages to their personal copy of the book including their experiences with the various creatures of the deep and even their ordeals with the ocean itself.

Tenets of Faith

Honor Isquarra as you reach a shore, offer her a prayer as you step to the shore, give her a sacrifice before you set sail, or else you will be sacrificed to the deep.

Holidays

Winter's Fade: The holy day of Isquarra is in celebration of the ice that traps her waters having (at least mostly) melted. The reopening of waterways for trade, fishing, or other reasons is a cause of celebration in many communities. The day is spent fishing by most who celebrate it as often the fish are quick to bite on this day, whether the grace of Isquarra or hungry from a long winter, in either case, it is a boon to those whose lives depend on the water. It is on the 21st of First Melt.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Her goals are hard to pin down, she doesn't seem to have any overt aspirations to grow her power, save perhaps taking full ownership of all water by taking away Gulrahdur's connection to the deep. Some do suspect that her machinations are just far too subtle and long term to be noticed as the waves bring stones down to sand so do her plans slowly come together.
