Crystal Mages

The Crystal Mages, few truly can call themselves Crystal Mages, the tests are long and difficult, and only the best of the best complete all the trials required to gain the station of Crystal Mage, within a city of 16 million there is less than 8,000 True Crystal Mages.

Career

Qualifications

Completing the Test of Truth and Heart is the final step to be allowed to call youself a Crystal Mage, but before that are many smaller trials from the first of being able to push though the wards and illusions around the Tower via willpower and knowledge to showing your worth and heart to your teachers and staff within the tower.

The Mages progress though the ranks. Which include
Acylote Apprentice Senior Apprentice Mage Magus Master

Payment & Reimbursement

Unknown, but those of the tower never go wanting, and always have coin to pay when within the city proper or further afield.

Other Benefits

Crystal Mages are known to be incorruptible and loyal to the Tower and City as a hold, and obviously trusted because of that, Either the lowest Mage is seen the equal of the the greatest Noble or Guild Master.

Guardian and Protector of the People and City, as well as Researcher in the Arcane. Many bring new and helpful devices to the city.

History

The Crystal Mages came about due the oppression towards the Mages after the Civil war between the Trader Guild and Noble Senate Houses. when both sides used Mages during the fighting causing serious and widespread destruction, and while the Mages followed the orders of their Lords, they were blamed for the worst damage and deaths during the war, so afterwards they were shunned and controlled, Magic was Suppressed and limited. Then the Declaration of the Crystal Convenant Concord happened and everything changed, ending in the Crystal Tower and Mages taking control of the city for the benefit of all.
