Session 79-80: It’s Okay, We’ve Got a Healer’s Kit

General Summary

14th Proviso

Morning briefing from Elien, a drow-like being with pale grey skin and small horns.

Dhaer to be staying at the Sanctum as emissary.

Headed to the forward base in the agricultural caverns.

First cavern is normal farming; second has been taken as military base.

Lieutenant Var'yan briefed us in forward camp.

First sight of incursion was when farmhands came running saying something had exploded through the wall; further two caverns have been covered in magical darkness since.

During briefing we're attacked by goblins, bugbears and a hooded figure with void-like figures.

Defeat odd-creature (Bodark? Bodak?) - two heads, deals significant psychic and necrotic damage.

Damage from magic eyes continues after death of creature.

Liv nearly freaking died.

Vena'ki sustain losses during fight, Vary'an survived but injured.

Short rest in camp before tackling magical darkness.

Peni leads us through caverns, darkness continues all the way until the hole in cavern where explosion happened.

Staff with glowing crystal at the entrance; Peni tries to remove it but not strong enough.

Rel removes it but is affected by blindness from magic; Liv tries spells but can't remove it.

Magical darkness around us vanishes when staff removed; Vena'ki quickly move their forward position.

Message Dhaer to ask for help with blindness, says he can help tomorrow, but agrees to meet us at Sand's Heart this evening.

Head back to Sand's Heart via farm; leave message with Defren that two caverns are ready to be reappropriated for agriculture.

Take promissory note of 200 baracs to Bottled Sandstorm for potions (we were short 15 baracs to get a health potion as well so agreed to bring any interesting materials back, and also Drala to have a drink with Peni).
