Next: Session 139: Haven
13th Propho
- Find Redemption pass; Dhaer meets us halfway.
- See a light in alcove ahead, see a shadow and a giant eye; invisibility is nullified.
- Discuss the creature: it's a Beholder, not been talked about for 9000 years, Dhaer has been keeping tabs on it, worried that it has moved in here.
- Beholders are normally solitary but this one has underlins called Death's Kiss. Unusual behaviour for a power hungry creature to command others like that.
- Dhaer stone shapes us in and rest for the night.
- Beholder seems to be nocturnal, when we pass its sleeping, but its antimagic gaze still works on everything, including the ring of storage, dropping everything and making a noise.
- Haven wards would not be sufficient against it. Lair is middle floor. Seems to be about 5 floors deep as far as they can tell.
- Beholder has been known to have affect on its surroundings that affect reality - possibly why the ruins were skew when we passed.
- Try and sneak pass some Death's Kiss but fail to go unnoticed; end up killing them; one calls to Xanthaui to let it know that one of the Death's Kiss had died.
- Cross wards into Haven and where there was rope on Liv's pack, Mimi vanishes into dust.
- Learn of some topside goings on from Hekess when we get back: couple of protests, unhappy with the election, wanting to see Chancer and lobbying vocally. Things are less tense with gnomish encampment.
