Chief Archivist Orthiel
As the longest serving member of the council Orthiel carries a great deal of respect from his peers. He is nearly 700 years old, and has been on the council itself for nearly two centuries. Because of this Orthiel tends to think of the long term outcomes of actions and ponders decisions for an exceptionally long time. This can be frustrating for some of the other council members, but his decisions tend to carry wisdom.
His role as Chief Archivist makes him custodian of Bastion’s history and collected information. All of these are stored at the Ancestral Archives, where Orthiel has a comfortable residence in the upper levels.
Orthiel has long, thin white hair that is pulled back from his forehead into a neat bun before cascading down his back. Unusually for an elf he has developed both a moustache and a beard that match his snow-white hair and hand neatly down the front of his robe.
He is most often seen in long, loose fitting emerald green robes with yellow silken trim. He walks assisted by a black cane topped with a pearlescent stone that he habitually strokes as he contemplates matters.
Orthiel is often seen with his page Desmond, a young human boy not long into puberty with scruffy blonde hair and freckles. Desmond carries Orthiels papers and books as well as anything else of import to the elf so that Orthiel can walk more easily.
