Darek Kang

The Darek Kang is a cult dedicated to Orcus, Demon Lord of Undeath. Originally created during the Twilight War when Orcus fought the gods on both sides of the conflict with the goal of ascending to godhood and claiming the mantle of "god of death".
Orcus was betrayed by Asmodeus and banished back to the Abyss. The cult disappeared into the pages of history, occasionally appearing with undead minions, only to be stopped each time.
The Veil of Moon
This was the last recorded conflict with the Darek Kang. 70 years ago, in the territory of Shune (Eissen Empire) a group of necromancers took over a small mining village and were attempting to spread undead through the land. The Platinum Sun quickly dealt with this threat before more lives were taken, slaying all the cultists forever ending the Darek Kang...or so they thought!
The Ressurection of the Darek Kang
Though it was thought there were no survivors, a single being still lived. A dwarf left for dead prayed to his demon lord for strength and it was granted. Now known as Cardinal Mortac the Withered, the dwarf became a creature of undeath. 
Under orders from his dark lord, Mortac slowly began to rebuild the Darek Kang. Biding his time until all of his pawns were set, and their dark plan could unfold! Duchess Lirian Torlay joined the cult as a young woman, exploring the world. She was promised power and magical might, and she soon became a key figure in the cult. Lirian was to set the stage for the Darek Kang to announce themselves to the world. After The Scourging of Galmor City the world finally knew the cult was alive and a force to be reckoned with. The ruined Galmor City was to become the throne from which Orcus would rule the Material Plane.
