The Forgotten Library

The room is split into four aisles by three sets of shelves. The shelves are stacked with tomes, scrolls and loose pages. On the side of each of the shelves, there is a large pot with a mineral growing out of it.

The four sections look like they were sorted in some way, but the labeling has wilted away.

You cannot glean any knowledge from these materials. Most of the books you check are completely blank, except every once in a while the letter "U" appears. This will take a lot more time to figure out. (Check again next week!)

These books are blank! It's as if something has been erased from the world, and it took this knowledge with it. Every once in a while, you come across a lone "U" deep in the pages. After a bit more searching, you find a scroll that has not been erased. It looks like a materials list for a spell. The bottom of the list is blank like the rest of the books, but the spell name and the third component are still visible. "Total Obliteration" requires "The Heart of a False Hydra, Freshly Harvested"

Searching the books and scrolls you find that most are blank, although sometimes there is randomly a "U" somewhere on the page. Then you find it. Lost in the backmost corner of the library, there is a note.
"Boks, if you find this, I have already been lost to the wind. I am researching a city who's name I cannot even write down. I knew it in my first life, but after that, it never came up again. Please, do not seek me. I need time to figure this out. For the first time in my lives, I am slowing down and taking my time with something. All the Best, Mr. PIB "

Take a book

You grab one of the books on display. (Add a Red, Blue or Green Diary to your inventory.)

The Mineral Pots

There are three minerals growing in pots at the end of the shelves. One is yellow, one is blue, and one is a speckled black. The pots are too big to move.

RULES: To harvest these minerals safely, you will need to identify them first (Nature or Survival DC 15). After you identify them, you will need to harvest them with Carpenter's Tools, Jeweler's Tools, Mason's Tools, Woodcarver's Tools, or a chisel (roll with disadvantage if not proficient) DC 15. Gedwin, your history with a mine gives you advantage on these rolls. Once you have successfully harvested a gem, if you used the chisel, it will break, and you will need to get a new one. Gems should be announced in the discord as you harvest them and place them on the desk in the puzzle room. They are needed for the double door puzzle.
