Session 91: The Dovah's Chosen, and a Prince's Destiny: Scallywags

General Summary

Aikhon begins to lay plans, the next morning, with Vumphesh starting his catalytic research, and even some trainining with the crew as the new quartermaster, someone who needs to give orders. Here, he finds Ollie, a newer recruit of sorts now, who rests on the eastern railing of the Horizon's call as it begin's to travel north to the Regent Isles. She is unsure of her place, and Aikhon has more questions for this odd orc, this chosen of the Faces of the King--the King himself chose her! However, she does not want to speak to this outside, so he leads her into the Captain's Quarters, so he too, later, can get a view of his father's map.
Once inside the Captain's Quarters, Ollie explains the other 'chosen' she is aware of--the princess being one of them. He is able to procreate, the king? Aikhon hear otherwise. Her name is Jessicara. She has a small squad of heavily armored knights to guard her. There is also Daeceran, a fey and Sighadd a skaldyr, and a strange creature named Long Mist; there is another named Dreamtwister, one who can fly, and then Nephron, a tiefling, and a Loxodon, she saw during her own ritual, a description Aikhon asks for twice. There is a young woman, Elremretta, and V'a'pan, a Gith (something Ollie only now knows because of Gyc). Finally, there is Hrodi, who probably replaced her as a chosen, a skaldyr warrior, leader, but someone ordained by another land, another being, or another force. Aikhon is thankful for this knowledge, and the night wraps up quietly.

Ilknar takes his evening to go talk to Pojin, and he finds the boxer, the gnome owner of the Horizon's Call, the one who trained Ilknar in the ways of carpentry and woodcarving, and seeing that the giantkin wants to have a serious conversation, Pojin asks Ilknar to help him clean up. Ilknar readily obliges. Once into Pojin's room, Ilknar asks of Mila's mother, and Pojin spits out his drink, so he can begin to look for something harder to help him deal with this awkwardness. He seems to want the old boxer to talk to his daughter. He may even have more children he might want to consider, an adoptive son, maybe, even right here. Here, Ilknar divulges his own past, his destiny and connections, and this makes Pojin want to drink even more. They take the evening to enjoy eachother's stories. Were they better off a year ago?
The next day, there is a long discussion about how to approach the Regent Isles, and they inevitably remain on course north to Conf of the Regent Isles. The island might eventually be there's. Then, in the distance, the Pursuer sends a horn, and the perceptions are gazed north. An oddity, to be sure, a giant water lily.
Aikhon dives in the water, and so does Ilknar, while the Redwing sail over the sky. Underneath, Aikhon and Ilknar see some forms, some fish men, with water spiraling beneath them as if they were created from the water itself.
Above, Captain Will orders the Redwing closer, and then the water lily grows and rises to attack and grapple the Redwing, but it dodges away. At this, the Crews of the Crimson Fleet react, and begin to load weaponry, and Ilknar tries to distract the fish men to allow him on top of the Lily Pad, but the Lily Pads react, too, and they go to envelop each ship, some dodging away from these watery transmutations, and others beginning to be drawn into the waters.
Canons fire, and watery drakes rise from the depths attack from all angles. The waves, even, form faces and arms, and climb aboard vessels to attack the Crimson Fleet.
Valentha's boat has two huge water elementals, a dragon, quickly destroyed, but her kobolds must dive into the water, her sailors too. "Leave them to us; find a way to get the boat free!" she yells. But soon she and Vumphesh are pushed back, her brother inside the elemental, soon to drown, and the ship being pulled even further below water from this giant lily pad. Yet they swim aboard, and Valentha finds a connection to the weave, and she paralyzes the monsters.

43 has aid on his vessel, with a new Skaldyr mate breaking throught he Lily Pad, and mages exploding ice bombs, while others firing guns and bows with 43. Thankfully, the breaking of the lily pad allows them to remain stable above water, but the creatures soon attack. 43 Falls though, from the retaliation. His crew rallies, and encircles the beast.

Reggie begins to fly, and he circles about while his crew fire canons, throw axes, and prepare bombs to launch, where Reggie then unleashes a powerful cone of cold upon the water elementals rising. But the elementals surge on board, and whelm many of the crew, pushing some almost overboard. Yet, they rally, and Reggie aims a powerful cone of cold simultaneously, and thus the dwarves fell the creatures.
The water elementals dive back into the water.
Captain Skuttled Kadage of the Merchant's Expression holds his own with his crew, and he, and his two goblin compatriots destroy the huge elemental before it takes over their ship. They work together, and stand ready to assist he rest of the crew from under the lily pads, or even of the Fleet needs their two canons.  Qoc's crew bands together and fends off what they can.
Saerah turns her boat around, and will aid with her own magics against onslaught; she begs her new crew and friends to stay safe below deck, or below the seas, whatever tehy prefer.
Brimstone leads the crew to defeat the dragons flying around them, so they can focus canons on other enemies.
