Session 75: Scallywags: Tacos and Giants, and Watery Fishmen Too

General Summary

Aikhon takes George to the Captain's Quarters, and he, Pojin, Nethpione, and Ilknar with Aikhon discuss with the odd celestial what is his purpose and how can he know so much about them and their time. George responds as to be expected, with enigma and cryptic words. Nevertheless, he hints to knowing and connecting with Tritherion and Bahumat, with Dovah, but knowing little about how to measure time, George talks as if these events happened recently despite them being actions from many centuries prior. Additionally, he also states he know the Faces of the King, and the search for immortality is simple fiendish gesture, and he believes this dragons of red, gold, and copper, that were foretold by his own prophecies it seems--divine purpose is here, and George wants to confirm it. George makes tacos for the others during this time at the request of Ilknar, and they are pretty good, offering a boost in consitution.
They let George go to prepare more food for the crew, something with chicken, and Vareth had waited outside to talk with his brothers, and they invite the black dragonborn to the captain's table. Vareth Dovah wishes to apologize to his brothers, and assert his excitement for what appears divine right. He knows his brothers work toward something blessed by the gods, and he wishes to see it through, to know what could be gained. The legends of the Wall of the Faces of the King must be true. The dragonborn coming from them, the assertion of divine immortality, the manipulation of the citizenry to harness the necrotic essence seeping from the east, into the waters and means of the Grey Coasts. The king must be using this all, and he must be dancing with glory about it. He questions Mila and some others loyality in relation to the Faces of the King, but he is also settled on being a member of the Crimson Fleet, whatever that may be. They soon elect him to assist Gyc as a member of the Master at Arms, and to help get the fleet ready for war.
Meanwhile the gigantic Lady Sasha has been working out, lifting the long lance cannon in her giant form that still lingers from George's magical potions she consumed from the day before.
Roland goes to the Unshackled Horizon, and he plays with the Kobolds, working the strength and problem solving, he stomps on a platinum piece, and he discusses with Vumpesh about the punching weapon experiment they started with Flotsam, the Scion who passed. He waits to see what the enormous Lady Sasha can arrange to get him a prosthetic arm from Grindstone's Grain.
Aikhon spends time with his dragonkin Frierdirem, and he tries to begin the bonding process to make him a familiar to be summoned with the aid is needed, to be safe for the dragonkin should terrible opportunity find it.
Brimstone spends some time with Auna, and he finds she is ready to move to the next stage, and she knows her people are ready for this, and that maybe their time is done, that what is next for her is the Wall, and the power behind it.
They have a long rest. It is peaceful night filled with music, story, song, and drinks. George is definitely making everyone more hungry. During this night, Ilknar performs a divination ritual. He focuses it to the sky, and in the clouds, a visage akin to his father appears. Then within its stomach, the clouds and star swirl, and they answer his query. Is is safe to return to Feon? He finds feon below him, for Ilknar is the size of a great giant, and he sees the King's District and the Ne District generally abandoned. Much is desolate, ransacked, and ruined.
Ilknar the next morning goes to the Captain Brimstone to warn him of this omen.
Aikhon spends more herbs and ritual practices to bond to his dragonkin.
Gridley is found outside the Unshackled Horizon by Roland again, and the human watches the strange, enamored grung makes an odd effigy out of fish guts, scales, and bones--perhaps something to apologize to his beloved Valentha Dovah, who did throw him out to the waters, again. However, Roland offers another platinum piece to the kobold who stops this effigy from reaching its complete construction. A rumble and a tumble ensue between the grung and half dozen kobolds in the process; one kobold flies, and it is able to use it red scaled wings to dive and create the most destruction as the others draw out each limb of Gridley's to bear him outfrom the hall. The grung is able to knock out two kobold in the process, and Lady Valentha awakes for a moment and looks out the door. She ignores the scene, slams the door, and bangs on the wall as one more echo, one more stamp to say stop, remember this is my boat.
About midday, though, the water begins to overwhelm the living boat, the vessel of Saerah's intent and one of the most unique and valuable additions and assets to the Crimson Fleet. The fey yells for assitance, and the Scallywags react with earnest. Brimstone and Ilknar are launched over by a mangonel, Lady Sasha slithers over with her magical ring attached to her now giant form, Roland Jumps over from Valentha's ship, as the white and silver dragonborn takes aim on the forming watery structure. Aikhon dives into the water and quickly swims over, and the rest of the crew and ships wait for Captain Brimstone's orders.
The water soon forms into a fishlike creature, with his upperhalf as a fish man, with arms, fish lips and gills too, but is bottom swirls into water up and down, regathering into a tornado. He at first is not understood, until Aikhon gives the magical tongues for Saerah to communicate, for the watery creature does at first address and say hello to Saerah. After a few moments, she is able to translate his intent, and how he looks for the one who was blessed by the Kraken. He wishes to trade for her. Eventually, he casts the tongues magic on others, so a real conversation can be had, and the odd water elemental presses for knowledge on the blessing of the kraken, who ever this may be. They offer a discussion with a king, and Ilknar even turns to show his magical tattoo, the marking of the Storm King, but only Roland sees that the water elemental recognizes the mark. He says otherwise to Ilknar's face when he turns around.
Eventually, the trade is asked to be confirmed by the giantlike Lady Sasha, and the creature of water shows his haversack, saying he has two items inside, his wreath of golden thorns with five gems ring about: emerald, diamond, ruby, jet, sapphire. They discuss, but it seems no sale will be settled. Still the dragonborn breathes seethe with greed, mouths watering over an item distinctly connected to their ancestry. Moreover, hearing this intent, Brimstone steps forward, putting his heel into the cuspe of the wreath, that which should rest upon someone's crown. This claim, sparks the chaotic creature of water, and he goes to retrieve it. He is unable, for golden scaled claws grip around it, and they disappear: Mine! It is mine!
Brimstone and Aikhon and Roland know who this is. Skiff's spirit lays claim to that which was offered without honored weight and proof of sale.
The watery beast, this fish-like man, legs swirling like whirlpools in the waves, jumps and soars, almost turning invisible if not for Lady Sasha's lightning maul. It flies away, saying it will take, and it will find, but being seen, the others overwhelm, and Lady Valentha finally gets a perfect head shot to the creature, and it explodes into watery foam, leaving its items behind for others to claim.
They have another day of sailing, but they push through, and force themselves to stay awake and harness the Fleet with purpose and sail--they are almost to Feon!
Reggie will wait until the boats are docked, and time allows for a peaceful conversation between captains and intentions of crews.
Aikhon and Brimstone, before leaving for Feon's western docks, they go below, and they will talk with Uhmar one more time before time is not really theirs to bargain with anymore.

Skiff's visage appears, and he gives Roland the wreath. He trust the human more than the sons of Dovah.

Mila spends her time training in acrobatics, and with the Call's magical, elemental core.
