Session 72: Firi's Curse and a Hydra: Scallywags

General Summary

High Noon on a very hot day, and the warship south west from the Call is attacked by a strange monster, and the sailors screamed hydra. Mila teleports to assist, as the beast pulls its two orc sailors, already bitten apart with heads and waists eaten, under the sea, another orc dives after, and two strange humans cast spells and follow suit, while 43 of the 80 Chosen Scion, the brood of sons and descendants of the great Jesharaum, fires his gun with his visor aimed--always a direct hit. He orders his crew to load the two cannons closest, and they fire, one grazing, and another missing. The two humans under the water continue a barrage of cold magic to slow them down.
Lady Sasha activates her flying boots, and she almost skips over. She too wants to assist while Roland jumps more than 60 feet to land aboard the warship's deck. Meanwhile, the dwarves who have attached themselves to the floating vessle, the Horizon's Call, agree to use their mangonel to fly Ilknar to the waters nearby.
The crew of the warship fires what ranged weapons they can as brave orc hunter, raged for vengeance against his fallen and eaten kin, carves with an axe deep in to the purple hide and oily flesh of the hydra.
Once situated, it is Iklnar who also notices from the depths four silouhettes, and he belives them to be monstrosities from the deep, lost kin from the plane of water, Merrow. They wait or perhaps they also hunt this hydra. Once they are able to work together, more than 30 feet under water, they fend off against the hydra, but once Firi arrives, the hydra stops its assault, and the silhouttes from the deep, the merrow, swim upward.
The humans from the warship, these odd mages, speak in Aquan to Firi, wanting her to talk and engage with the merrow. Firi is scared and reluctant, and her tentacled hand squirmed.
Lady Sasha is able to move forward, and Firi follows her confidence, and Ilknar is able to follow their after.
Mila leaves in a huff and puff of magic, and Roland swims back after the human mages disengage and return to the warship. He saw them speak, and he wishes to know what about. Firi being nudged, and even a scream to set their presence, once that frightens Firi to her core.
The merrow back below speak in the tongue of demons, abyssal, and Lady Sasha understands they wish to capture Firi. She stops part of this first attempt at Firi's abduction by suggesting with her snake charm for it to drop her and never return to this spot. It does listen, and Roland and Mila return to help clean up the remaining monstrosities with Ilknar and Lady Sasha. Firi is confused and intimidated by this attempted abduction, and she can only stare at her tentacled hand.
They then return to the warship, and Lady Sasha promises to 43rd's crew they will be protected by her and the others, and the reputation of the lady warrior and storyteller grows. Lady Sasha promises protection for Firi, and they wait for Ilknar to give them the able to walk and water, all but Mila who is still upset at having to spare the life of the last merrow, one charmed by Lady Sasha's yuanti magic.
The rest of the day, Mila spends time sulking in her maginificent mansion, for she was asked by Lady Sasha and Ilknar to let the suggested merrow to leave, to let him spread their story to the creatures of the seas.
Lady Sasha spends most of her day getting to know the members of the crew, and she shares her greatest story, that of her fight with ancient blue dragon, Siriaxs.
Ilknar helps with the repairs, but he also spends time with Nethpione learning her infernal speech.
Later in the evening, Mila ponders about Vareth's, the Brackish Fleet's, level of chaos and evil as set by the rules of sea. They are a troublesome sort, but they do have a mixture in action and history. They learn toward chaos, and they oppose the Faces of the King. She also charges teh core of the Call, allowing its elemental battery to regain a full charge. Later that evening, she invites Will and the Redwing's crew to her magical mansion, and they spend time just being sailors and drunks, gamblers and joksters.
Roland goes to pay back Vumpesh.
Ilknar losing access to his room, for Mila remakes her mansion door to be that of his room, and he cannot enter it.
Lady Sasha finds connection with Chatulkik about possible poisons, and she gambles with Pojin, Peanut, Maura, and many others. She loses 500 gp in the session.
