Session 70: What The Sea Winds Will Bring: Scallywags

General Summary

Late evening, and Aikhon searches for the best spot to lay the egg, an egg of an unknown dragon type, and he settles with it to be on Saerah's vessel. He debates about going to Uhmar, but he is unsure if he will be able to control himself; his inner dragon may unleash an elemental wrath upon his soul, whatever may be left of that human death researcher, servant to the faces of the King.
Later evening, as well, Mila takes herself to the lower hold of the Call, knowing the ship needs more mana in order to be ready for the travel and repairs to come, the hopeful upgrades as Aikhon has promised. Thus, the gnome high mage connects her our spirit and the unleashes a powerful connection to the Weave and its arcane energry into the Call's elemental engine. The Call begins to float once more above the water, making it much easier to tow.
The next morning, the ships begin repairs, but the messages between captains hint to a shortage of food and lumber to help with those repairs, so they start to gather information that will detail how they can distribute their holds evenly, or where it is most needed.
Mila takes it upon herself to try to scavenge key magical components in order to summon a magical mansion, one that has servants to feed one hundred people.
That same morning Aikhon and Brimstone discuss, well Aikhon comes to his brother, for he wants to know Brimstone's insight on all the matters, but Aikhon also wants to see how the map of the father's famous, lost treasure, the Treasure of Dovah, has it changed since the 8th Bloom. During this conversation, Chogim comes to greet Brimstone and ask how he may be of better service to the Call, Captain, and Crew. Brimstone sends him off to assist the deck crew, and they begin to search the map.
However, during this discussion, Aikhon sends to magical messages to inform both Torth and Feanger Dovah of their success and next plan to go to Feon. Torth informs him that they are almost to the Regent isle to meet with Feanger, but there is a sickness that has hit the crew. Feanger also informs Aikhon of how he was unaware of the Death Inquisitors all being sent to the Bloom, and how that doesn't really matter, for The King has disowned Uhmar and his ilk, and he has new dragonkin to assist him. The brothers worry of dragonic loyalties, but they know that choices made define the character of the adversary and his dragonkin allies, not their bloodline. They ask hard questions, but soon return to the famous map, and they first see two bright lights, one further east, brightest of the two, near the Wall of the King, and one faintly trailing, for but a few moments, at seemingly the same spot to where the Call sails. They spend the rest of the day helping Brimstone master the wheel and sailing of the Horizon's Call.

Outside Sasha's room, she is met by Korgak, another Orc to have joined with them from the Brackish Fleet, and he has been paid to attend to the Lady, 50 gold. However, she cannot allow for his unseemly dress, so she orders her lead attendant to make Korgak a suit worthy of her classy, illustrous presence. However, Korgak needs a bath and some cologne first.
Ilknar spends his day repairing the boat, and he even offers assistance to one of the trio of dwarven vessels who faced off agains the Brackish Fleet, taking the brunt of the carnage. During this repairs, up in the sails, Brimstone comes to Ilknar, really, to seek advice from the King. Ilknar has nails in his mouth, trying to tack down the new sail. Brimstone asks about his father, and Ilknar does not understand why everyone is so interested in his kin; his divine sacrifice his put into play, for he cannot remember much of those connections: he needs a focus for what comes next and his rule. Ilknar tells Brimstone to look to the horizon. That is what matters.
Mila heckles Ilknar about his daddy issues, and then she goes down to the core of the ship, to offer more mana, and to understand, with Noodles' help, how can she communicate with the elementals bound the to the engine that allows the Call to float, to cast this magic at all. She learns three ways that she could attempt to connect and communicate more with the elementals of the core: telepathy like Noodles, but it is faint and wavering; learn primordial and hope they will listen and retort; or, use the elemental energy of the elemental themselves, but potentially blow up the ship.
Aikhon find Roland as Roland leaves his room during this, and he thanks the human, the 2nd Mate and member of the Call and Scallywags for his attention to his responsibilites, and for also how he looks how for the young, slightly crazed dragonborn Aikhon Rango.

The dragon brothers then invite their other siblings, Vumpehs and Valentha, as they go to interrogate their black scaled brother, but they need to stop and talk to Uhmar first, for he is finally awake, and even his own men seem willing today to sell him out for their own freedom. Uhmar gives them noblemen names, and even information about how the Wall is being fueled by followers and divergents to the King's cause. He complies, and he asks to see his wife, and they eventually drag her in, bound, and blinded, gagged too.
They then go to Vareth, and they find an agreement after much consternation. He will join the Crimson fleet, but he will not be trusted, and he will be watched. The gold of the King's holds entice him more than the words of warning and family and peace, even a succession of a new age.
Lady Sasha finally finds Roland later in the day, sometime after noon, and she gifts him a new handmade suit. He calls her saint, and he wishes he never would have judged her before. She even informs him that they may be able to order him a new arm, from an artificer in Grindstone's Grain, named Siegward.
