Session 69: Vareth Dovah, Commodore of the Brackish Fleet: Scallywags
General Summary
Aboard the Pursuer, Roland "Odds" with Valentha Dovah attempt a parlay with the two remaining warships of the brackish fleet, and they are initially unaware of failed ambush by Vareth Dovah and his other captins and elite crew. Failed, for Lady Sasha, Mila, Ilknar, Dosgratin, as well as Reggie and his dwarven crew, are able to fend off the ambush, but also to capture and waylay many of the crew, the officers--those with connections, maps, and resoures. However, once Roland jumps over sixty feet to land abord the first warship of the Brackish fleet, the crew is soon swayed to a side of peace and alliance.
Meanwhile, the ambush finally reveals the true culprit, and Vareth Dovah attempts to sabotage some cannons, but he is seen by Lady Sasha, first and foremost, who runs over to attack him, and she overwhelms him with her lightning maul, shocks charging through his muscles and bones. Mila is overbord, balancing between rowboats, rough waves, and wrathful trolls and other beastly crew. All she needed was 6 quick strikes. He does stand his ground, Vareth, the black dragonborn warlod and Commodore of the Brackish Fleet. But, he is soon overwhelmed again by Lady Sasha, and he sees the giantkin Ilknar swirling his might and weapon around him like a storm, taking over his crew, most unconsious, dead, or broken.
A few attempt to escape back to their vessels, but they do not realize Roland and Valentha have already taken it over. There are some allies of Vareth of note: a yuanti who is eventually executed by kobold vengeance and Valentha's carbine, a goblin with one eye and an elf captain named Brand, The Puck, who are taken prisoner by the Reggie's dwarves.
In the exchange, a group of orcs pledge themselves, loyalty and weapons, service and monetary gain, to Brimstone and Lady Sasha respectively. And even Lady Valentha gets an admirer out a crazed grung named Gridley "The Rage" Sutherland and Qoc, an orcish captain.
They then reconvene together, and they discuss the much needed rest before them.
