Session 59: Chainsaws vs. Hulks, The Thrown Devourer; The Brackish Fleet North, The Kraken South

General Summary

Ilknar is surrounded by intellect devouring brains; Mila is at the landing of the stairs, mindflayers bloodied, intellect devourers leering with more coming up the stairs from some other level with each passing moment. Roland stands over the brain and apparatus that controls the flight and speed of the nautiloid itself. G is soon also surrounded by larger figures, brains possessed by the devourers. The giantkin has already thrown one of these 'men', and he does so a third, fourth and fifth time as he makes is way forward up the vessel, checking a room, but finally finding stairs he can fit through in his large form, he goes to the lowest deck. It is only after defeating a few more devourers, the men they control, and charming a duo, that Mila, G, and Roland are able to join Ilknar.

Meanwhile Aikhon joins his brother Brimstone back aboard the Call, and he warns the brother of their other brother, and how his Brackfish Fleet comes in from the north, canons loading, five warships strong. Brimstone takes a beat, a moment to think, and then he utters to his brother nearly defeated, that maybe they should go home. Yet, to the south, the Faces' Fleet comes into view, and Aikhon warns his brother that The Kraken will soon rise, for a bargain between the treasurer, son of Dovah and the call, with the ancient aquan beast has been made.

They decide to head south, but The Call still keeps the Brackish Fleet in sight as they watch north. The trio of dwarf vessels unleash hell, canons and mangonels, and they destroy the Nautiloid that came in after, gluttonous, for Aikhon's draconic powers, mind, and knowledge.
On the lowest level of the nautiloid (the only one remaining: one has plane shifted, the second was just destroyed by the dwarves, and the third now described, flies 1000 feet above the bloom; they hope to avoid the dragon, but now they have marines of the Call to take the ship for their own), Mila, Valia, Ilknar, and Roland find that Teyos has joined them on the nautiloid, and they find many cells, about twenty. Only about eight are occupied by human and zile sailors, those yet to be gifted (brains eaten), as G's charmed monster claims: this monster is an intellect devourer in control of a barbarian sailor of the northern seas.
Back with the Call, as the sail south, the Brackish fleet to the north attempts to take advantage on the Dwarves, they fire their canons, and hit the resilient dwarven vessels. And the Call warns the dwarves to follow them south, and that they should take advantage of the Faces' Fleet as the Kraken attacks from below. The creature grabs at one vessel and brings it below the depths to attempt to sink it completely. The faces fleet, most of them, must break the formation to even have an attempt to fire upon the beast.

And, back above, and aboard the Nautiloid, Ilknar explores more of the vessel, nor longer large and raged. The others attempt to free the slaves, and before brute force is used, G is able to telepathically link with the nautiloid to open the doors. Yet, Ilknar has found something in the dark waiting.
