Session 51: Two days of Peace, of Crew, of the Sea and Stars: Scallywags
General Summary
It is the 5th of Ghost's Memory, and the crew takes a much needed few days of rest.
Aikhon meets first with Vumpesh to both bond with his other half brother but also to provide his own acid to some of the future grenades and concoctions.
Ilknar spends more time with Nethpione, who is distant, worried about Ilknar, his face in her promonitions and whether he will chose to be a king, a pirate, or something else altogether. They practice Ilknar's learning of the Infernal tongue.
Valia needs a day of recovery, but she overhears discussions of the drama between Mila and her father Pojin, and how Teyos is worried over what may come from this odd event.
Roland spends time with Reddem and Peanut, and he agrees to train them in combat, so they are more ready for what may come next at the star.
Mila, later on in the day, rests on deck, and after securing her bracers and other gear in a magical tiny hut, she goes below deck to find her father going over goods and storage with West, the helm and new quartermaster of the call. She walks over to the elderly gnome and punches him right in the face. They then duel, at Mila's request, until first blood, and although she is able to pin her father to the ground, his quick fists are too much for her, and she backs down from the initial fight. Some of the rest of the crew comes to watch, but soon after this bout ends, Mila and Pojin find their first common ground, respect and pride for each other.
After this, Mila finds other powerful casters, Nar, Aikhon, Nethpione and G, and they divert some of their own mana into the broken and cracked elemental engine and battery in the lower decks of the Call.
G also asks Ganoi to assist in his mental defenses, and G is readily surpised by the Goblin's psychic accuity.
The day ends with Aikhon meeting with Gyc to learn more about the Trio that the Mindflayers they have dealth with seem to worship and revere. All the gith knows is that they are a powerful influence and that he will come with the to the Star to investigate, and that they need a heart of an Ugenus, some that Aikhon realizes the next day is a daughter of the primordial gods. Maybe Teyos knows more.
The next day, Aikhon sees that the call floats above the sea, and he awakes the crew with this realization, and a sense of joy takes over, of hope and determination that they will find the Pirate's Glory and answers to their own souls here at the Star: the Horizon's Call has lead them here. Aikhon then spends more time with Gyc and Vumpesh, investigating these new apparatuses.
Brimstone has nearly mastered being a sailor.
With the knowledge of the Call being batteried with flight, Mila gets the mages to return, and they now have the ability to hover at great distances.
Aikhone later sends a magical message to Torth, and he asks the human cleric if the seas what does the trio want: They want the heart of the ugenus, and that is presumably what has fallen in the form of this star: a daughter of the first gods.
He also sends a magical message to his other half brother, Feanger, and he learns more about the Death Researcher's of the Faces, and how they lead from four snakes, four loyalists to the procurement and decimation of dragonborn in the search for an escape from the King's own fate: to join the wall again, and make ready for the next divine leader.
Roland thend spends time with Flotsam to modify his knuckles, and Ilknar learns more about Infernal from Nethpione while G tries to assist.
They sail into the sunset, and a silvery petal formation awaits for them beyond the horizon, muffled and hidden by the setting sun.
