Session 113: Scallywags: Contracts of Kobold Glory and Gold

General Summary

They have a few hours of travel before this Noia Fleet comes into view, presumably lead by Scion Vessels, those helmed by Kobold Kollectives. With this, Lady Sasha takes time to check in with the ccrew, helping them relax and also prepare for what is coming next: they have slain legends yesterday, and now they must burgeon their own legend. Orran, in a good fey antithesis, pesters the crew, keeps them on their toes, lets them know the time is not now to relax. It is the time to bond.

Wulfgar makes his way down to Ilknar quarters at about 10 am; Ilknar has slept in late, being quite busy as the Fleet's Bosun, helping the other ships stay in top shape, getting ready for the Fleet's invitable facing with the Queen of the Faces of the Kings. Will she be the first one, the first Queen? It takes some knocking, but eventually Ilknar is jostled awake, and Wulfgar comes inside to cast a ritual of gentle repose upon King Boveen's head. Ilknar seems very nonchalant about the idea of the head, and he soon heads back to sleep. However, this trophy will be useful for future ventures and questions. Additionally, Wulfgar has an idea of making a magical tattoo to bind the body more permanently from falling into the clutches of undeath.

This day turns to a quiet one before their arrival to this new fleet. Captain Brimstone spends some time with the crew, and they all feel more together because of it.

Within a few hours it is time to meet with this new crew, so the Crimson Fleet raises the pink flags of peace, and Mila, Brimstone, Ilknar, Wulfgar, Orran, Auna, go to the Kobold's at Lady Sasha's request. They fly over aboard the Redwing, and beforehand they are able to arrange a few kobold's to join the crew of the Redwing, to replace those lost at the harpies. With this, they fly forard, and they are able to land without incident, and they are even able to dock with the largest of the Scion Juggernaut vessels. They see many ships, a mix of scion and human make. They disembark, and arriving on deck, there are dozens, if not a few hundred kobolds about, them, moving the ship, aborbing into the ship like cells of its own body. They encircle near the gcentral turret that makes up the brunt of the war vessel's hull as it sits above water. There are a small group of humanoids, taller and more ornately dressed than most of these other kobolds. There is a human lord, elderly but strong, missing an eye, but adorned with armor and weapon of lord and leader, and standing near him are three others, a human woman, presumably his daughter, confidently stands behind him, dressed as that of a capable battle bard. On the one-eyed lord's other side, there is dwarf with alchemic and catalytic gear ordained about him, a bodyguard to the Lord here, but also a capable catalyst of the field of battle and science. Thus, they break towards them, but they are stopped at Brimstone's address to the leader of the ship, to find fine-clothed, dark-coated female and gold-scaled Kobold, to address them. Yet, she cannot give them passage, and so they must talk to another.
Yet before they can consider this, and at the confusion and words of the kobold Lady Salt, the Master Skiff appears, a ghostly apparition. He demands to know which one has his map to the treasure and life of Kurtalmak, but the Lady Salt does not have it. Another does, one that she must meet north, one that she will need time and payment to successfully reach. With this, Skiff is satisfied for now, but he still haunts for minutes. Brimstone and Lady Sasha go to talk to the Master of Noia and these waters, to ask for safe and harboured passage. However, the old one-eyed lord is not ready to give this passge. He needs something in return, a deal to fight a crazed wizard, a deal to help his own lands, something to bargain why others should risk their own lives for such an assault--for the Crimson Fleet. Unsure of the answers, the lord walks away, and his dwarven compatriot boards the ship. Brimstone, though, calls after him, and they negotiate more. Master Par Ser Streif needs the Wizard Iomore and his trade blockade to end. He needs those waters to access the trade from the east. This could be because of an alliance with the Faces of the King. However, there is no way to verify other that South Ireef is loyal to the Faces. Thus, they need a capable ship and crew, a face ship, maneuverable and speedy, to go over the 50 to 100 foot waves, and maybe, take care of the sources so that Streif and his fleet of trireme warships can take the city docks without shedding blood, with just presence and words. Well, some blood, but hopefully only those who are loyalt to the Mage Iomore.
Brimstone agrees, and either the Redwing or the Call will make this adventurous move.

Orran thakes this opportunity to pull Lady Salt aside, for he sees this Juggernaut as an opportunity to ensure their positive gains and survival when facing the Queens Ships, the might of the Faces of the King and its fleet. She at first is unconcerned, but then the promises of gold, and the 10000 gold Orran gives upfront, prove to this part of the Kobold Kollective that being a little late for the meeting to the north may be well worth the wait. She agrees, but only after an extravagant contract that involves the heart of a cleric or paladin to allow them to pass through the belly of the Cladd, to the far northern sees. Her ship will aid against the Queen, but not the upcoming fights until then.

With ths the ships separate, and one of the juggernauts turns to follow the redwing, and then it opens fire on them, nearly hitting Auna in the process. Yet, many are able to jump to the Call, many are forced in the water, where Mila dives down deeper to save Mr. Wise and Mr. Sterrum.

The Call turns to face it, and the trebuchet and mangonel are loaded.
