Session 111: Scallywags: Brave the Passage of Noia
General Summary
The captains meet, and they decide Telemachus and the other Infurians will meet up with them in a few days, maybe even a week or more. Nonetheless, the Call orders the ships in a line, and they decide to lead the fleet through. Moreover, the Redwing will provide aerial support, and since the Call can hover, they both can aid with magical casters and spells and the like. Wulfgar begins a weather control ritual, and then other casters assist as well, some with simple gusts of wind, and others with more complicated spells toward the maneuvering and elemental capabilities of the Call and its Crimson Fleet.
It is quite clear, that without this aid, the rest of the fleet would have suffered more damage to the the ships' hulls and a setback of another day if not more. And, learning of the harpies in the territory from Telemachus, they wanted to not tarry too long through the Noian Passage. Yet, the narrowest part comes through, and below Ilknar sees a young halfling on some flotsame on the waters below, surrounded and screaming for aid, with five harpies clawing for her life.
He teleports to the halfling, and he saves her from those harpy claws, swimming and then climbing up the 60 ft cliff to the Call's hovering hull. She is thankful, and she begins to aid the captain and Nethpione with the crew and the the Call's hovering over the passage, soon to lead the other ships behind them. Yet, the harpies soon swarm a bit, and Lady Sasha and others go to engage, while Mila and the Redwing circle about above them all. The song of the harpies, however, soon lures some, and a few sailors fall to their doom, with others like Wulfgar and Orran diving after to save them. Thankfully, many wards of water breathing and and water walking have allowed much of the crews to be safe from the water's doom. Nonetheless, the Redwing's small crew suffers the most, with two sailors falling, one to the depths, and another to the harpies' bites. However, Wulfgar is able to swim and save Mr. Wise before he falls to the depths. Mila saw the eyes in the depths before, and now Wulfgar sees them too, right as he gets to the shore, well the few feet of rock between them and the water's eyes, teeth, and maw.
The harpies are soon taken care of, with a mixture of lightning hammer strikes from Sasha, arrows from Orran, lighting slashes from Ilknar and Hrilda, and fireballs from Mila.
It is here that the young halfling takes her advantage, and she changes shape in to a horrendous tentacled monster, with maws of hydra heads, and her own dispicable magic emanating off of her. She attacks, and Brimstone and the rest of the crew lose control of the ship but briefly. He crashes into the wall of the cliff side, destroying the rock face in the process. This is when Lady Sasha and soon Ilknar return to the ship, and with Brimstone's help, and well Lady Mila trapping it two times with force walls, the Scylla monster is felled. But, the deep still beckons, the monster still quivers, the eyes still blink, the maw still hungers.
