Scallywags: Session .5-1

Introduction of character, the ship, and its crew.

The party gains knowledge mostly:
- their shipment is tainted, and they will lose out on return upon return to Feon .- The spirit of air and water than resides in the lowest levels of the ship is diminishing in power. The Crew of the Horizon's Call needs to find another resource, or the Horizon's Call may never find the seas again. The rudder also needs repaired as per bosun Ilknar of Feon 's reports.
Loyalty with Deckhands Rald and Peanut, saved by antidote made by Rognur Cromsoms and Ganoi Ogopiy with Torth Morningsea magical healing as aid.
Missions/Quests Completed
The crew is having dinner late on the evening of First Kord's Light. The cool evening, and nearly full moon, only lulls the crew into drinking and food, and eventually the laziness of sleep.
However, Torth Morningsea interrupts Brimstone 's dinner with his officers, asking for a private conversation in Nethpione 's nearby quarters. In their private conversation Brimstone is told by Torth that diseased rats have been reported today by Fl'ta Ikewas , or Noodles as most of the crew call him. Torth suggests we keep this quiet, and that the Captain finds those he trusts most to destroy the vermin tonight. Torth also tells Brimstone he is ready to serve because the Captain made Thej his second mate. Even if Torth and Thej did not vote for Brimstone, they do respect him has Captain of the Horizon's Call.
Dinner closes, and Ilknar finishes off most of the rest of the leftovers, while Aikhon and Captain Brimstone discuss what to do about the vermin below. Brimstone asks his brother to take care of it quietly.
Aikhon first goes to the main deck with Rognur Cromsoms and Western Sunrise to lay a plan for the vermin search. West is too excited, and this draws the attention of Skiff on the main deck tending to the cannons, as well. They begin their search in the decks below.
They are first drawn to noises from the guest quarters and crew mess hall. The easily fell the diseased rats, leaving little behind for identification. The awake E'krae and he and West begin to go downstairs, as Rognur, Skiff, and Aikhond finish off those rats in the guest quarters. Yet, during the fight, in an attempt to finish the vermin off as quickly as possible, Aikhon releases a large gout of acid breath. This destroys the vermin, yes, but it also destroys the floorboards below.
Acid leaks, dotting Pojin Saenbibas below, working in his own shop late at night. He arises, and he joins E'krae and Western Sunrise in the investigation below. Ilknar awakes by this point, and he joins the group as they head below.
As they go below, they hear ruckus from the privy, as Rald, a minotaur sailor, has fallen in front of the door. No one can get in until Ilknar rages and bust open the door. Skiff dashes in and blasts a hole in the side of the Horizon's Call in order to destroy a half dozen or so of these creatures. Thankfully, the privy still works. Ilknar drags the very wounded, presumably poisoned, Rald and the young Peanut, a Lutrin (otterfolk) sailor follows after, also having been bit by the diseased rats. Rognur fears the worse, and he and Ganoi take the injured sailors, Rald and Peanut, to the surgeon's table.
Aikhon, Ilknar, Skiff, and now Captain Brimstone--and most of the rest of the rest of the crew--awaken and rush to see the commotion. The party, our Scallywags, continue below without Rognur Cromsoms as he attempts to save the minotaur's, Rald's, life.
Aikhon, Ilknar, Skiff, and Cpt. Brimstone travel below, and the hall is ransacked by swarms of rats and diseased rats. Thankfully, the destroy these creatures before any other crew are infected.
They travel below, and they find Torth and again with Fl'ta Ikewas . They inform the group that the spirit of the air elementals and water elementals that guard as well as power the Horizon's Call is faltering and must be replaced. Nethpione , a proclaimed spirit of the sea and first mate, knows little of where to do this. However, Skiff , a former slave of the The Dwarven Confederacy knows the deserts from whence their hall has come--those dwarves would also know of how to fix this. However, that would bring risk to the actual stolen status the that ship is.
Rognur gleans from his needs magical aid to affect this disease upon Peanut and Rald. He sends Ganoi for Torth below, who is defending the spirit of Horizon's Call with Fl'ta Ikewas . Torth comes and heals Rald, so he will last the night. Meanwhile, Ganoi and Rognur desperately craft an antidote against the rats poison. Eight in the morning, Rognur administers the antidote intravenously. Rald shows near immediate relief, as does Peanut.
