Scallywags Session 3: "A Drop of Cinnamon--or an overbearing amount, brother?"

General Summary

Ilknar has a dream, of being underwater, sounds of larger whales bellowing in his ears. A voice penetrates through the cacophony, and it warns: "Beware the sky, the squids."
On the Third to Fifth of Light, Scallywags find themselves three to four days from Feon.  The Third of Light, First Pelor's of the year 698, a heavy rain, a storm hits west of Feon, pelting the Horizon's Call for well over twelve hours. Cpt. Brimstone, Ilknar, Torth, and Thej with Nethpione manage the storm epically well.
During the storm, E'krae avoid service on the deck, as ordered by Brimstone, in order to have an impromptu meeting with rest of the crew, at least those willing to listen, in the third deck's crew's mess. Deoy, Aikhon, Skiff, Noodles, Yolov, Dupuis, Mascout, and Seren attended. It is here that E'krae argues for purpose for the crew, a future that he believes he can provide. However, Aikhon is able to convince Yolov, a long standing member of the crew, that patience is needed. Let's see what Feon brings for the crew, the Vedalken states. Aikhon is even able to convince the third mate that his impatience is unwarranted, and that the dragonkin, Brimstone and himself, have plans to establish a new order about the Grey Coasts. Nonetheless, E'krae agreed to include Aikhon in his dealings for what comes next with his connections within Feon, but the yuan-ti warns of the Men-in-Black, and the Knights of Ne of the Chonoloc Isles. Yet, E'krae has an Ice Shrubbery he could use to barter with the Knights.
On the Fourth of Light, First Font of the year 698, Aikhon and Brimstone discuss the future, the wariness of the crew, and E'krae's (presumably unlikely) warning of taking the part of the crew and getting his own ship to captain. They agree big moves need to be made, but Aikhon also believes that they have more to gain by helping E'krae that not.
Later this day, the Fourth of Light, Brimstone finds the eldest member of the crew Teyos Oushos, who is well into if not past her second century living on Barur. He brings is father's map to the sea elf. She speaks of ancient giant runes, she reads, and hints that they will kindle, show the route of the near century old map of the Grey coats--a falling star will show the truth of the runes. Falling stars happen quite often it the Grey Coats, albeit by no means every night. He thanks the sea elf, and she asks him to return the favor by catching any orcs, as she has heard from the voices of the sea creatures, that her sister has been taken into slavery by the Orc Scions
The next day, the Fifth of Light, First Kord's of the year 698, the crew enjoys a day of free sails, crew stability and peace, and calm waters.
The following day, the Sixth of Light, First Edgewood, the The Crew of the Horizon's Call is beset by a minor bug that seems to be developing from the days before: the food infested by the diseased rats. Rognur sets to work, with E'krae, Brimstone, and Kevdae helping to appease the crew, barely twelve hours from Feon's port. The crew eventually calms, but during Sundown, a foreign ship is seen by the crew, and pinpointed to be closing in the by sharp eyes of the Master-Gunner, the kobold Skiff. An orc sea craft, a ramming ship from the War of the Cladd, speeds towards Horizon's Call
The Captain leads the orc vessel, using the Call's speed to its advantage, while the ramming ship desperately tries to catch up, turning east, thus giving Skiff's crew clear lines to destroy helm and ballistae of the vessel. This allows the crew to get close to launch Ilknar via mangonel, and quickly board the vessel, obviously stolen from the orcs, commanded by trolls and goblins

Rewards Granted

Loyalty with Crew: Brimstone, for leading the Call through the storm. +5 Crew Quality until Feon
Knowledge: The Men-in-Black will need to be dealt with for crime to grow and be controlled by the Dragonkin or E'krae (Bulgell Goregolds connections in the Grey Coasts).
