The Kingdom reels from the fallout of the Rift. While officially the incident has been covered up--labeled a gas explosion and blamed on Baltimore's failing infrastructure--the video released by Salem, and tampered with by Mary Aranha, has caused no end of problems. The Second Inquisition, though still bound by political tides of favor, and wishing to maintain a light touch, have sent multiple Hunter teams into the city in order to covertly begin to contain the situation. This has made life difficult for Kindred, but the SI is on the lookout for any kind of supernatural activity.   On top of this, Marcus Vitel has taken advantage of the chaos to step up his plans; his forces openly war with the Queen's across the Beltway, and his troops openly push against the Marshal's defenses in Canton and Fells Point, disguised as gang-bangers or drug dealers. The mortals have noticed the uptick in gang violence, but as usual the Baltimore Police department has been slow to respond.   The Queen has announced that the Domain of Old Town, the position of Seneschal, and the position of Justicar are open. Eleanor looks for Kindred to earn her favor before she bestows these prizes on any others.   The Shadow Network started by the still missing Vincent Phillips has been completed. This self-contained intranet acts the cellphone network for the city, allowing Kindred to use cell phones and electronics to communicate again. The wider internet cannot be accessed, but it is only a matter of time before some enterprising soul creates the Google for the Kingdom of Baltimore.

It is a time of transition for the Kingdom of Baltimore, a time of paranoia among the Kine, of increasing warfare, and of an uncertain future.
