Political event

The second of the Queen's New Childer is born. Corinthia Banner ascends to her place at Eleanor's side. The day continues as any other for the Kine, blissfully unaware of the power shifts taking place. Gang violence is still on the rise in Canton, and mortals across the city have reported an increase in nightmares. Terrible nightmares that none can quite remember.

The Queen begins her second contest to become her childer: a contest of intelligence. The first one to attempt this feat is a retainer of the Tremere Little Wolf named Martin, who unfortunately falls to the whims of a snake spirit within the labyrinth Eleanor has designed to test her champions.   The next to go is the Tzimisce Kadenz, who perishes to one of the challenges - her friend and fellow Tzimisce Seeker is able to keep a few of Kadenz's fingers and resurrect her at a future date.   The third to attempt the challenge is Corinthia Banner, who succeeds at two out of the three challenges, losing her eye to one of the puzzles.   The fourth is the Queen's childe Rosalyn Christopher, who like Corinthia is able to pass two out of the three challenges, but is flayed alive instead of losing an eye.   The Queen eventually chooses Corinthia to be her second childe, devastating Rosalyn, but not much can be done to help the failed neonate.
