Burrowgrove

  The capital city of the Noclon Confederation and the second largest city by population in Baephios. Burrowgrove is a place of vast commerce and guilds. Loads of different demographics can be found at the capital of the Noclon Confederation. Orcs, orges and even goblins are welcome in to sell, buy and even work. The city is open to any and everyone who is willing to spread the good name of the city and the ones who govern it.   Unlike most Captial Cities there is very few acting National Guard to protect it. Burrowgrove has been a long standing city for quite sometime and when it became the capital of a new nation it didn't change too much. There is the massive walls that surround the whole city, the people call it the Green Curtian as it is covered in vines and foliage. Burrowgrove also has its back to the mountains and protection from the dragons that are friendly with the nobles.

Demographics

Primarily Human with a handful of other races such as, Trition, Dragonborn, Gnomes, Firbolg, Goliath, Half-elf, Half-orc, Tortle and Teifling.

Government

The entire city is under the influence of the BurrowShire Council. A group of powerful individuals such as Rich Nobles, influential Adventurers and the most powerful spellcasters and of course the bloodline of the ones who founded Burrowgrove, the Burrowson family. Currently Dante Burrowson, oldest son of the Burrowson family, has taken over his father's place as head of the Council.

Defences

Burrowgrove is in a fantastic location for defense. The mountain range behind them gives them an advantage as there is only one way to attack them, the front. The Green Curtian wall of Burrowgrove provides the city with all the defences they need. Archers and spellcasters a top the wall to fire at anything that dares challenge the free city of Burrowgrove. There is a small number of standing National Guard that keep the city in check. It isn't a job that pays well, but it is a simple and easy one.

Industry & Trade

Burrowgrove does a lot of land trade with all the other nations of Baephios. Their main source of trade is silk. There is certain magical spider that spins its webs full of magic power and creates some of the most durable and malluable fabric known to man. Other than that lots of meat and dairy product gets shipped out to other nations.

Infrastructure

The City has very classic medieval city buildings, cobblestone roads, stone foundations, wood housing, stone housing, a market place. A few large stone buildings. Roads everywhere, a sewer system and loads of farm land outside of the city walls.

Assets

Burrowgrove has everything an Adventurer would want to find on their journey. Inns, Taverns, general suppiles stores, forges, even some magic shops that sell very rare and expensive magic items. Burrowgrove is also home to the mystical Shell of Issa'manoi. A massive nautiles shell 20 foot in diameter said to be one of 16 shells on the necklace she would wear when commanding the giants of the sea.

Guilds and Factions

Burrowgrove is practically run by guilds and factions. Some that have stood for many years and are still going strong today. Here is a list of guilds from most powerful to least powerful.   1) The Night Wolves, a thieves guild that prides themselves on information gathering.   2) The Bannersongs, an adventuerers guild run by the most famous Bard in the land.   3) Ironbeards, a blacksmith guild that forges the greatest weapons in the Noclon Confederation.   4) Seekers of the Damned, a sailing guild that controls most of all the ships that leave the ports of the Noclon Confederation.   5) HummingArrows, a Ranger&Rogue that pride themselves on the perfect shot from far away.   6) Redhands, a sorcerer guild that seeks to find and question Blaster, Fire Monarch.   7) GoldenSkulls, a pirate guild who has commited themselves to finding the lost treasure, the Skeleton Dice.   8) Tremble Dragon, a guild of primarily Dragonborn with intent on one day meeting Bahamut "The King" and is a very noob-friendly guild.   9) Devoted Titans, a Goliath guild that follow and respect the ways of Keokon Deity of Goliaths. They also take up most of the dangerous quests.   10) MonsterSkulls, just a group of idiots that like to collect skulls of powerful slain monsters.

History

Burrowgrove used to be one of the biggest cities in the Viridium Empire, when it was a part of that. Burrowgrove has been a city for about 600-odd years. However, 200 years ago the Noclon Confederation was formed and Burrowgrove took the spot as the capital. Now it is the fastest growing city in Baephios.

Points of interest

There is a Rasmodian Magic Academy placed in Burrowgrove back when the Confederation was part of the Empire. The Academy wasn't renamed out of respect of Rasmodious "The First Sage". Guild Street is also a popular place to visit. All 10 of the most popular guilds are represented here. Quests for adventurers are abundant and rising the ranks here is very common.
