The Wild Dogs
The Wild Dogs are a splinter group made up of former Jackals who survived the fall of Bradford, but did not make it to the The Devali Principato with the Senior Officers. They banded together and, in an attempt to hold to the ideals of the Jackals, began a resistance campaign within the bounds of Talanthia themselves. Very quickly succumbing to more violent means and a pragmatic interpretation of their former organization's orthodoxy, they started an aggressive recruitment campaign among those displaced by the destruction of the royal court. They created their own instruments of order to mimic the ideals of the Jackals, including their own newly formed version of the chronicle, which they named the "Howl of the Pack," and set up leadership positions in a similar manner to that from which they came. Viewing their previous oaths to still be in effect, though not having the leadership or wherewithal to remember exact details, they recreated things as best as they could remember and created what would essentially become a near parody of the Jackals' rites of initiation. They also continued the tradition of renaming those who officially joined the order with quippy, shorthand nicknames.
Regardless of their methods, their effectiveness can not be understated. Through tenacity and shear scrap, they managed to deal a number of blows to the slave trade which Telemon's forces attempted to set up in The Occupied Kingdom of Talanthia, while also viciously subduing any who seemed to be falling to the new empire's cult. Despite this, they were not immune to infighting and leadership disputes, and their early days were filled with challenges of strength and mettle, which only compounded their already aggressive leanings, and tended to make the most bloodthirsty members rise to the fore. For succeeding an organization known for their strict adherence to a code and law, the Wild Jackals were undoubtedly a "chaotic" order.
