Battle of Brasta

As winter thawed, Prince Vasilej, Princessa Lorina, and the Bogatyrs, accompanied by Captain Gudvaer and the Varangian Guard, lured the Warlock Knights into a decisive battle at Brasta. The Tuaksin Cossacks and Rolovsk militia inflicted heavy losses before retreating to Palischian lines. Boyar Taisa Koloskiy’s masterful tactics turned the pass into a trap, with the Varangian Guard and infantry annihilating the conscripted column. In the climactic moment, Knight-Vindicator Arofryr and his elite warriors portaled into the command post. A new arrival, the Knight-Errant Alastor slew Arofryr in single combat, while Bertryll’s blunderbuss devastated his troops. The Palischian victory crushed the enemy regiment, opening the path to Castle Perilous and securing Palischuk’s borders.

As the winter snow began to thaw, the armies of the Warlock Knights and the Palischians readied themselves for battle. When King Markus heard reports of a battalion of heavy cavalry coming to reinforce the Warlock Knights, he sent Prince Vasilej, Princessa Lorina, and the Bogatyr, along with Captain Gudvaer and the Varangian Guard, to goad the Order into assaulting the Royal Army's position at Brasta.
  The battle was fierce, with Hetman Mikael and the Tuaksin Cossacks skirmishing the Order vanguard while Mayor Volymir's Rolovsk archer militia rained arrows, inflicting heavy losses on the veteran infantry. In a skillful show of horsemanship, they were able to push through an encirclement and make their way back to the Palischian lines. As the overwhelming mass of Order conscript infantry entered the pass, the strategic creation of a gap allowing incoming soldiers to be attacked on three sides by the Varangian Guard, Obnigrad Company, and Koloya Company by Boyar Taisa Koloskiy, crushed the enemy column with minimal losses to the Palischians.
  As the Palischians annihilated the remaining Warlock Knights in open battle, the commander, Knight-Vindicator Arofryr, and his most loyal warriors teleported into the command post of Prince Vasilej and engaged them in battle. Many soldiers were cut down in the ambush, but Knight-Vindicator Arofryr was cut down single-handedly by the Bahamutic paladin Alastor, a dragonborn knight-errant. Bertryll's new blunderbuss tore through Arofryr's men, leaving a fiery trail in its wake.
  With the Royal Army victorious and an entire regiment of Warlock Knights crushed, the path to Castle Perilous laid clear. With control over this stronghold, the Warlock Knights would be unable to continue their attacks into the lands of Palischuk.
