Sol Sector
The Sol Sector contains two systems, Sol and Alpha Centauri. It is the home of the species homo sapiens and the most heavily developed and populated sectors.
History
The sector is the origin point of humanity, which originated approximately 300,000 years ago with behaviorly modern humans being around 160, 000 to 60, 000 years ago. Space exploration began in the mid 20th century with the first humans orbiting Earth (in 1961) and landing on Luna (in 1969). Several early space stations include Salyut 1 (the first, in 1971), Mir (1986-2001), and the International Space Station (1998-2033).
