Personal history

Nimhe doesn't remember much about her childhood but she does recall bits and pieces. One memory was of a stranger she had met when she was a child. The reason she is able to remember this memory so clearly was because of the stranger. He wore a cloak that covered his face and hid the majority of his features. When he bent down to interact with her she was instantly mesmerized by the steaming glowing blue eyes he had. He was gentle with her and was the only person apart from her father that acknowledged her existence in the small jail cell she lived in. He was also the first person to make her a promise. She remembers the asking her father about people like the stranger she met. He seemed instantly concerned and told her that  she should avoid creatures like him if she wanted to continue living. She never saw that stranger again after that day and this memory seem to fade into the back of Nimhe's mind.
She did however remember all of her time in the grove her father took her to after escaping the prison. All the people who helped teach her the many wonders of the world she loved. They even used to bring back books from their many travels just for her. Spending endless days reading to or beside the keeper of the grove. She would also spend a lot of time playing with the younger Da'traxi.
As she got older she began to experiment with alchemy. She would then spend the majority of her time experimenting with various plants and chemicals just to discover their reactions to each other.
She was always thirsty for knowledge but she also craved a certain connection she could not find. Her father tended to leave her alone and the others would have duties that took most of their time. When she did have time with her father he would be avoidant of her questions. Then again she always wanted to know about her mother and how she was born. In a way she was able to relate more to her Da'Traxi friends as they were similar in that situation.
On her 16th birthday her father had gifted her a book that told her about the Yuan-Ti culture and explained to her it was about time she learn about her race. He never said anymore then that but Nimhe was able to determine that since her father was Human, her mother must have been a Yuan-Ti. She was so happy with this that she never bothered her father further about the subject.
Later that same day the Circle called for her. Apparently they felt since she was of age, it was time to take her first step into becoming a druid. Nimhe was so happy as she worked really hard on her first assignment. They would take her into the forgotten realms as she tried to make contact with various gods in hopes that they may support her as a druid. She always returned back to the grove godless after each trip.
After a few months Nimhe felt like a failure. She decided to skip the trip to the forgotten realms and take a day to compose herself. She walked by the circle area to see her father talking with the archdruid. She overheard his concern "I am worried that since Nimhe is a monster she may never be able to become a druid."
She ran away from the area, tears streaming down her face. Her father thought her to be a monster. She decided to leave the grove after that and quietly snuck out past the grove guardians. She had never left the safety of the grove before and usually only full druids were allowed to, but only on assignment.
It was quite dark and she could see undead wandering around. She ducked into a cave for shelter for the night. She discovered the cave wasn't really a cave as there were old structures within it and her curiosity couldn't help but drive her further into it. She came across an horde of skeletons but was unable to kill them. She could break them apart but they just seemed to pull themselves back together.
Worried for the people and travelers that would come this way, Nimhe would try various things to try and kill the creatures. The commotion she caused seemed to attract the attention of the undead from outside of the cave. She now found herself trapped inside with an army of undead and no way to defend herself except for her monstrous claws.
She fruitlessly fought against the undead until she was overwhelmed by them. She was stuck by a fatal blow and was bleeding out waiting for death when a bright light shined before her and a man stepped in front of her. He effectively destroyed the threat and turned to her.
The last thing she remembered was the steaming blue eyes that looked down at her as she felt herself being picked up. When she awoke she found herself in the lap of the death knight who seemed to have healed her wounds. He seemed to study her as if he knew her. Nimhe did not recognize him but he was the second death knight she had seen in her lifetime and she didn't find him as scary as her father describe them to be.
They talked about trivial things until her strength returned. Apparently his employer paid him to retrieve me. She couldn't help but feel disheartened thinking that the grove went through all this trouble to find her. But, being in this cave with him made her feel like she made the connection she was seeking her whole life.
When he finally escorted her out she was greeted by his employer. It was the goddess of death and she had admired my resolve to face the undead with only concern for others in my heart. My drive to preserve life and to quell the undead was something she admired in me. She also told me that she had heard my pleas for a deity and she wanted to become my patron.
I was so happy that I hugged the death knight who had saved my life. When she looked at him after realizing what she did, he just looked at her with an raised eyebrow. Embarrassed Nimhe accepted the Raven Queen as her patron and was gifted with a token of proof to be presented to her grove.
When the goddess left she was once again alone with the death knight. He escorted her back to the grove in his cheerful manner, slicing through any undead who came their way. Nimhe couldn't help feel the longing in her when they parted ways.
Apparently no one at the grove missed her presence as they had though she had went to the forgotten realms. That didn't seem to make her feel any better. She presented her token to the circle where an aspect of the raven queen spoke to them on my behalf. The circle was weary of having a druid who served the goddess of death but the archdruid allowed it.
Nimhe was allowed to leave the grove after that day but she never had the urge to since the day of her secret runaway. She thought about the death knight a lot thought and longed to see him again but over time the memory also faded into the depths of her mind.
She spent the rest of her days furthering her spell craft and honing her abilities. One day after her 25th birthday the archdruid called for her. She wanted her to take an important letter to the town of Denaimu which was not that far from the grove. Nimhe accepted the mission and finally stepped once again out of the grove not as a runaway but as a full fledged Druid who was trusted with an important mission.
