Cami
Camille is from the far future, and has traveled back to Azza-Jono by way of a cytocaul (or, at least one is involved in the process somehow; perhaps she was reborn into the past). We see she has cat-like features, such as claws encased in her fingertips, growling and hissing, long teeth that grow from her jaw as her bones shift, kicks out guts with her feet.
Two stories are monologues that feature instructions to Cami:
"He will hunt you down because that is his function. It's what he was made to do. He has at his slightest whim a thousand ways to steal your power and a million ways to take you to pieces. Give him no opportunity and show no mercy. Be quick, as you were trained. Take no pleasure but leave no trace of life. Do this, and you may live to find what you're looking for."
The cytocaul held her tight, like a hug from a parent light years away.
"It will look like a waterfall. Maybe forty meters high. Similar to the one underground near the Mother's Tomb, you know, near the entrance to the City? Obviously there's a pool at its base. That water should be safe. If all of your organics are functional, you should still be well-hydrated, but if you're not, be sure you drink lots of water. Check it first, you know.
"Under the water, there's an orb, possibly ten meters across, maybe less. This is what you're looking for. Remove it, and the water will flow. You can swim down, let the stream take you to the heart.
"If you make it, my sweet child, you'll find what you want. In the heart of the City. Be careful, Camille, for what you ask. It will bring it forth straight away. I know your intentions are good. Make sure your thoughts are, too.
"The cytocaul will keep you asleep and safe across the millenia. As you know, we'll long be dead and reborn thousands of times over when you get there. But we'll be there, if we can. Look for us, if you want. But in any case, live your life well. Be free. We made you to be free and alive. We made you as best we could, Cami, with love in our hearts and sweetness in our touch. You are the best thing I've done with my life. I love you. Be well."
