Optional Rule: Spell Preparation
In exchange for the limitations on learning spells from your opposition school, you gain greater access to the magic of your school. In addition to the benefits you gain from your subclass at 2nd level, you also gain the following advantage: when preparing spells at the end of a long rest, you can prepare one additional spell of your specialty for each spell level that you are able to cast.
These spells don’t count against your maximum number of prepared spells as presented in the Players Core Rulebook. For example, as a 7th-level evoker, you could prepare one evocation spell of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th level in addition to the normal number of spells you can prepare as written in the wizard class description under “Preparing and Casting Spells.”
