The Adrausii-Serausii War, commonly known as The War of 1624 was a conflict between the Empire of Adraus and the Empire of Seraus.

Throughout the latter half of the 16th Century, the Kingdom of Rathen (now known as the Empire of Adraus) had undergone an immense transformation under King Ardanic un Rathenau. Railroads extended across the country, cities bustled with new factories and industries, and the implementation of a new, public school and works program transformed Adraus into a dominating power in Azora.   However, many nations saw the beginning of Emperor Eberhardt's reign as questionable. Eberhardt was neither the tall, nor strong man his father presented. Eberhardt, due to ailing health, he was forced to walk with a cane and had trouble breathing which only made him appear weaker in the eyes of the world.   In 1625, the Grand Emperor of Seraus, Leon V, invited the nations of Azora to betroth his daughter in an attempt to maintain Serausii importance across the continent. Many suitors came forth, including the name of the son of the Emperor of Adraus, Theodoric III.   Immediately, diplomats from Seraus questioned the arrival of his name and met with Eberhardt in the resort town of Rojarsham. While the exact message has been lost to time, newspapers in Adraus reported that the Seraus diplomats threatened the Emperor to retract the name and never again attempt to wed into Serausii nobility. In Seraus, news claimed the Emperor of Adraus assaulted the diplomat and stated that Adraus would not give in to the demands of Seraus.   This resulted in the people of both nations becoming livid towards one another. Newspapers, worker organizations, and even prominent guilds forced the Leon V to declare war while the Empire of Adraus mobilized to defend its borders.   The war only lasted seven months, as Seraus utilized outdated equipment and military tactics. Their biggest threat, the Great Dragon Army, was decimated at the hands of the new Adraus artillery and expertly organized Rifle Mage Units.   By the end of the war, Eberhardt declared himself victorious in Seraus' Imperial Square. In an act which would only divide the two nations, Eberhardt stole the sword of the Serausii Emperor and declared himself Emperor of all the Adrausii, unifying the Basin for the first time in 400 years.   Seraus, on the otherhand, struggled following the war. Its emperor deposed by the people and his brother replacing him. The people blamed the nobility and the aristocrats on the loss of the war, and the Serausii Civil War began shortly after.
