Graymoor Castle
Government
The town and lands surrounding the castle fall under the jurisdiction of the castle lord. Major incidents and matters of importance are dealt with by the Lord himself, though minor matters including local laws and such are conducted through the Lord's chancellor and other minor nobles.
Defences
The two rivers act as a natural defense for the castle itself, each bridge is across is able to be raised from the castle's two outer gatehouses. A minor palisade runs around the town proper. Several towers are placed around the edges of the town to act as lookout points for hostile movement.
Infrastructure
As the largest military settlement in the Kingdom of Norlond, Graymoor Castle and its surrounding township have developed decent infrastructure for the region. Two large bridges cross the Rylic and Frostwash rivers to allow access to each side as well as act as defensive choke holds for the castle which lies in between the two rivers. With mostly paved roadways, the town handles the melting snow decently, though the slush can be annoying at times. All of the buildings from minor shops, to the stables and blacksmiths, even the bell towers, are all built to support the castle and Norlond soldiers.
Architecture
Most of the buildings throughout the town are of standard make but the more important or militaristic establishments have a noticeable roundness to their design not only in shape but also in features.
Geography
The town is split into three parts, the western side is split by the Rylic River from the castle which resides in the center. The eastern side has the same relation to the castle except it is split by the Frostwash River. This along with the forest that surrounds the area is great defensive terrain and also serves as viable sources for food.
Natural Resources
Little amounts of farmable land are in the area but the townsfolk make due, to supplement this they rely on fishing and hunting to support their needs.
