The Fifth Holyar-Den

AppDex H: Holyar-Den - Description
Solitude Master DornAlis-Urulo
The Fifth Holyar-Den is an ornate shortsword. The sword is unique in design and composition. It is made from pieces of unknown metal fused together using a method not known. It is unknown why the entire sword is made of pieces, and as the composition and resilience of the Holyar-Den has never been tested, it may be that case that while shaped as a sword, the Fifth maybe something entirely different. The pieces that make the Fifth vary in size, but in images of the item none appear to be larger then a few centimetres in size. However, the images that are archived are some millenniums old and no evidence of the Fifth appearing in civilization can be found in the last 15,000 years.
Records tell that the Fifth shares all of the qualities of Holyar-Den. Permancy, efficency of design, no cultural indicators.
This permanency and functional craftsmanship is a hallmark that identifies all Holyar-Den. They always remain untouched, unblemished, and timeless.
No further direction to Junior Agent indoc regarding methods to identify, flag and recover when appropriate this item. This item conforms to shared Holyar'Den qualities.

Currently, this item is not recovered.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

You jab or cut things with it to make those things bleed or break. It's not complicated.
Show Spoiler

Like very other Holyar-Den this item contains/entraps the 'spirit/essence' of an Ancient One, who is by all standards insane and psychopathic. This particular personality is relatively helpful.
To use the weapon, the person must give it at least one level of breath. At which point the weapon becomes attuned and sheaths itself in the body of the person in a mass of flesh large enough to contain it. This could be the back, chest, leg or whatever body section is large enough to contain the 30 cm blade.
Yes, this is painful .... and each time this occurs the person suffer trauma, so must complete a will save to resheath the blade thereafter. And, why would you want to reshealth this weapon? Well, if you did not then it will keep being active.
Drawing the weapon activates it, and the person must attack with it at least once. The range of the weapon is cinematic, in that it can be as long as needed for visual impact to demonstrate the vast over powering nature of the Holyar-Den. Those who have these weapons, should be afraid to use them, but desperately need to do so.
The basic mechanic for this weapon is:
1. Weapon is drawn causing 2D10 damage to the user.
2. An immediate attack is made against an opponent. This attack automatically hits as the blade 'teleports' into the target. The visuals of this are cinematic.
3. The weapon explodes in the opponent, and the opponent saves vs death. Failure means death, also cinematic. Success means massive damage (75% of health). If the opponent dies, a shard of the blade remains with the corpse to animate it and bring it under control of the weapon (and by extension the person who is bonded to the weapon?) This kill/animate ability only works on opponents of the same power level of the wielder or lower.
4. A follow up attack is made on a 'next' opponent. And, again until the wielder commands the weapon to return to its sheath. But what happens if the wielder of the weapon is killed? ... oh, good question.
5. The wielder orders the weapon to return to its sheath, after succeeding at the will save.
