Orc

An Orc who hasn’t killed or destroyed something by their fifth year shouldn’t be considered an Orc.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Orcs are bipedal. Like other uplifted races they have two ambulatory appendages and two appendages for manipulation. They have a 'head' where their main sensory organs and organ of cognition is held. They average a stocky build causing them to have more body mass then the other uplifted races. This is accompanied with extra muscles mass and a thicker outer dermis which allows them to endure minor injuries without concern and minor environmental discomforts.

Growth Rate & Stages

Orcs are short lived. They have an average life span of some 50 years. They mature quickly, most Orcs reach the physical stature of adults between the ages 3 and 5 years. However, they are not skilled enough at this point to survive the trials to achieve adult status at this point, so often spend 5 - 8 years in the Hersakr Ac’dmi.

Ecology and Habitats

All Orcs are native to Aut'tep'ko (The Barrens).
Orcs tend to not to travel once they have decided where they are going to live. They can also be rather territorial, protective.
They also like drier climates similar to their homelands, Aut'tep'ko.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Orcs have a very organized hierarchy whose basis is in the  Fa'manaudir (Family) Unit. All Orcs belong to a family Unit, and from that Unit they can be assigned to other organizational components (Units) in the Orc society.
Family Units belong to a Torl'njedur (Extended) Unit. Comprised of 20 - 50 Fa'manaudir.
Extended Units belong to a R'honSvadi (Zone) Unit. Comprised of 30 - 40 Torl'njedur
Zone Units belong to a Nv'iranga (Level) Unit. Comprised of 10 - 20 Torl'njedur
This means that each Nv'iranga Leader can be responsible for up to 160,00 individual Orcs. There are currently 13 Nv'iranga leaders.

Leaders of units can be either sex, and determined through a known process of promotions and merit.
After the Nv'iranga Unit level Orcs are organized through a council. Each leader of a Nv'iranga having one seat on the council.

Facial characteristics

Orcs have smaller eyes and feral shaped ears. Many also sport small fangs that are mostly decorative in nature.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Orcs have average sensory abilities and a dulled sense of touch compared to the other uplited races.
"Not nearly as 'ventive as us humans, not nearly as stubborn as dwarves, and not nearly as obnoxiously graced as elves, the orcs are violent and the most destructive of us all.
Orcs don’t destroy 'cause they’re angry.
Orcs don’t fight 'cause they believe in justice or 'quality.
Orcs do those things 'cause it is in their nature to do so. "

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Orcs are covered in a fine coarse fur, typically of varied natural pigments associated with the environs they are from in Aut'tep'ko which can help them blend into their surroundings. There clothing is often similarly coloured to maintain this advantage.
The fur is rough and can cause injury if rubbed counter to the lay of the fur. Many non-Orcs have commented that is is almost razor blade like in nature.
Orc hands also tend to be short fingered, but very muscular. They typically do not sport long finger nails.
