Ayndrinor

Many cities and kingdoms have been around since the dawn of history on Ayndrinor and have seen others rise and fall in their time. Scholars know of an event deemed The Smiting that wiped out an unknown number of massive, super advanced cities that were threatening global war and challenging the power of the gods. All of these "supercities" as they are known were erased from time and space in the blink of an eye, and any direct knowledge or memory of these places immediately disappeared from people's minds and books. The people had a general idea that there had been large cities around before, but they could not remember any details at all about such cities.   Other civilizations and peoples have come and gone from time to time, leaving behind vacant cities or monuments. Remote places like Eiselberg Keep or Mehzim surely housed living people at some point, though now they are abodes of the undead and decay, respectively. It is hard to say exactly when these remote areas were populated and when they became abandoned or cursed.
