Kusaka
In stark contrast to the desolate Maru Desert it sits alongside, Kusaka is a vibrant beating heart of colour and joy.
Summary
Kusaka is the capital city of the Khena Empire. Located almost exactly in the centre of the Khena Empire, it also sits on the eastern border of the Maru Desert.
Government
Kusaka, like the Khena Empire as a whole, is ruled over by Emperor Khena.
Religion
The Khena Empire is one of the most religious nations in Axora, rivalling Maressea, perhaps even surpassing it.
Architecture
Kusaka's architecture is deceptively simple, preferring angular structures made of sandstone coupled with flourishes of personal nature.
Geography & Climate
On the border of the Maru desert, Kusaka is arid and dry, mostly, but does sit in a pocket that received flashes of heavy rain.

History
Origins
Kusaka was first founded late in the first century in the Age of Discovery. Originally, it was an outpost to monitor the desert but its central location in the northern portion of the continent developed the settlement into being the focal point to anyone attempting to gain control of the area.
Pre-Cataclysm
Batash Khena gained control of the region four centuries prior to the Cataclysm War, and his descendants maintained power in the area, even expanding the borders southwards.
During the Cataclysm War
Kusaka was relatively heavily damaged through the prolonged fight with the Brown Dragon, Grundak. The final altercation between Grundak and his Brass rival, Bernijah destroyed several key structures in the city, including one of the wings of the palace.
Post-Cataclysm
Repairs to the city took a reasonable amount of time, but Kusaka was back to full working order well within a century of the War's end. In respect of the collaborative nature of the world in the year's, the Khena Empire has not been left behind.

Location under
I like the contrast of a city located on the edge of a desert growing tropical trees. Very neat. Note: It looks like your sidebar ended up underneath your main content. If this was not done on purpose, you may want to check your formatting tags. My articles end up doing this a lot when I mistype (or accidentally omit) an end tag.
