A Translation of Terms for Dungeon Delvers & Dragon Slayers

Races

Altara - Goliath - From the Old Tongue, meaning 'From the tall' (From giants, essentially)
Avedeni - Aarakocra - From the Old Tongue, meaning simply 'bird like'
Dracara - Dragonborn - From the Old Tongue, meaning 'From dragon'
Feldeni - Tabaxi - From the Old Tongue, meaning simply 'cat like'
Undara - Gith - From the Old Tongue, meaning 'From below'
Lacedeni - Lizardfolk - From the Old Tongue, meaning simply 'lizard like'
Solara - Aasimar - From the Old Tongue, meaning 'From Good'
Nixara - Tiefling - From the Old Tongue, meaning 'From Evil'
Primara - Genasi - From the Old Tongue, meaning 'From the Elements'
(Magara, Erdara, Aqara, Wynara are the denominations for Fire, Earth, Water and Air respectively).
  Descriptors follow the pattern of 'ra' -> 'ran' and 'deni' -> 'denian'.  

Gods

Aeda - Sune
Alios - Pelor
Athar - Lathander* (romantic history differs, past relationship with Zarene/Raven Queen)
Cephione - Chauntea
Essina - Auril* (Essina's history is a major divergence to Auril's. Essina is no longer an evil deity and in a relationship with Alios/Pelor)
Grommog Anvilback - Moradin
Ispilla - Mystra
Karf - Gond* (Though more akin to Hephaestus/Vulcan in being both crafting & fire. Fire is an aspect acquired after the Primordial god Vulkarna was banished)
Kril Silverguard - Garl Glittergold
Nitune - Selune
Nona - Ioun
Odum - Torm
Rituna - Tymora
Solemis - Cyndor
Talas - Umberlee* (Very different. Talas is male, for one. He is also a neutral deity. With Essina, was one of Primordial gods who turned on the other, but came back onside).
Toar - Kord
Virion Yessalor - Correlon
Zarene - Raven Queen* (romantic history differs, past relationship with Athar/Lathander)
