Shava's Silver Pyramid

This pyramid seems like a rather loud monument against the backdrop of their quiet ambitions.
— Phidi Strideheart, Traveler
This beacon of silver light is destined to stand among the wonders of the world for the coming generations. The silver pyramid is a massive construction project commissioned by Queen Shava Lunaria to solidify her ambition and to leave a lasting mark on history. It is set to become the greatest landmark of the Silver City of Luna, a beacon announcing the wealth and power of Lunarian civilization. It is a rather startling contrast to the reserved and secretive society of the Lunarians.   The pyramid will be composed of granite blocks quarried from the Bleau Massif. Its outer casing is will be made of mithral. This remarkable form of silver is rare yet is among the toughest metals that can be mined or recovered from ancient ruins. Its use in the pyramid's construction is most certainly meant to leave a lasting impression on all who will witness it as the Queen desires. As fantastic as such a structure will be, its construction will require great precision and a great many stones to complete. Some believe that the costs of constructing Shava's Silver Pyramid will outweigh its usefulness. The amount of mithral required to encase the structure is of particular concern. Shava remains undeterred as evidenced by the continued build up of labor and resources to construct the pyramid.

Of Varied Purpose

Shava's Silver Pyramid is not intended to just please the eye. This pyramid is designed with several functions in mind. For one, it is intended to be the Luna's greatest observatory. The Lunarians have always looked to the stars for answers, so having a grand platform from which to study the night sky will be regarded as invaluable. To accomplish this, various platforms extending north, south, east, and west will protrude from the sides of the pyramid near its summit. The great hollow cap of the pyramid's summit is essential in this design.   The pyramid will reflect the light of the moon in the sky, and to be its own silver light in the moon's absence. As such, the people of the city of Luna will never be without silver light. A most visible and lasting statement of Lunarian ambition meant to bolster loyalty among the populace.   The most ambitious function of this pyramid is its collection and distribution of the energies from the heavens above. Perhaps the pyramid will use these energies to erect a defensive shield either to support or replace Schutz Crystals. The details of how the pyramid will accomplish this remains a secret. The specific uses of celestial energy is a secret also, though the Queen promises that this will be revealed in due time.

Shava's monument will be quite the sight when finished. I wonder where all this mithral coming from?
— Thestor, Inn Keeper of The Moonlight

Whence does Mithral Flow?

The exact origins of mithral ingots used in the pyramid's construction are a secret kept by Shava and her government. It is suspected that the ingots are procured from ancient ruins, possibly an ancient mine. Possibly the same mine that has supplied mithral for other items in the Queendom such as arms and armor for the army.   One rumor states that the Kingdom of Vhara is supplying some of the mithral. This begs the question of what they could be receiving in turn.
Not everyone is supportive of using mithral to clad a pyramid- the Lunarian Army is certain to have reservations about the project. Mithral could be used in the making of arms and armor. Tensions are sure to rise on this issue in light of the upcoming war with the Kingdom of Helia.

Ragnhildr's Stone Quarry

The interior of Shava's Silver Pyramid will be made of large granite blocks. These stones will quarried from Ragnhildr's Stone Quarry located along the southern cliffs of the Bleu Masiff. This masiff is located near the northern wall of Luna.

In Art

While construction of the monument has only begun, several "artistic visions" of the completed structure have already been painted or drawn. These imagery already command a high price among the merchant and aristocratic classes.

Secret Knowledge

Rumor has it that secrets known only to- and understandable by- the Queen's family are to be stored within the pyramid. Exactly how or where is the subject of conversation among the citizens of Luna. The exact nature of these secrets are also subject of conversation. Will it be royal esoteric knowledge? State secrets? Personal secrets? Perhaps none will know for certain.

Note(s) from the Archivists:

A pyramid built during our time. I wonder what future civilizations will think about this? - Archivist Enna    It depends on whether it could survive or not. The Ruined Wonders are constructions beyond our understanding to create, and they are ruins not because they lie in pieces but because they no longer function. - Archivist Rena   I suppose it might not last. It would be cool if it did. - Archivist Enna   It would be very cool. - Archivist Rena

Oooo, a world wonder that's in the process of being built. How cool! I love the idea that it's going to be coated in mythril. I can't imagine the cost.
