Qakum Pumpkin

Overview

The well known giant pumpkins from the Pumpkin Town of Qakum. They can be used to create pies, spices, and art. Another purpose, though not common knowledge, is that they can serve as tiny boats.

High Demand

Qakum Pumpkins are in high demand by the well-to-do. Aristocrats in particular will reserve a pumpkin for various decoration purposes.

Single Seed

Perhaps the most unique characteristic of the Qakum Pumpkin compared to others like it is that it contains a single giant seed. This single seed can be used to grow one other pumpkin or it can be a toasted delicacy. Unfortunately, there are many who don't seem to see the use in keeping the seed and so they throw it away.

Cycle Crop

A Qakum Pumpkin requires vast amounts of nutrients to grow. As such, when one has grown within its own plot of land that plot cannot be used immediately thereafter to grow another pumpkin. The plot cannot be used to grow anything for that matter. As such, farmers in Qakum growing this plant have to plant new seeds in refreshed plots of land to sustain production. This is what makes this produce very expensive in part.
