Continental Island of Dammerung
It's probably the quietest part of the continent. For some reason people here can be content with simpler lives than those on Lluvia.
Overview
The western continental island of the Quassus Continent. It is also the largest continental island of the continent (a continent which is really the world's greatest archipelago). The population of Dammerung is less than that of Lluvia, and partly explains why this continental island is called the "Quiet West" by those on Lluvia.Dammerung is certainly quieter than what's going on to the east, but don't get fooled into thinking these lands haven't seen violence.
The Quiet West
Dammerung is also known as The Quiet West by outsiders. It can certainly seem that way when compared to the large scale political clashes between the more densely population sovereign states of the Continental Island of Lluvia. However, those living in Dammerung know that there are many tribes and city-states that vie with one another for resources often through the use of organized games. These games can range from simple card tournaments to duels to the death. The exact arrangement depends on who and how many are involved in a dispute. While this system of conflict resolutions can become exceedingly complicated to those not in the know, it seems to have reduced all-out war between political entities to a minimum. Hence why those on Lluvia believe the western lands to be quiet compared to the violence brought on by the ever expanding Kingdom of Helia.Scattered Political Entities
Dammerung historically has not hosted powerful sovereign states of the sort found on the Continental Island of Lluvia. Instead, Dammerung's history has been defined by the complex web of relationships between tribes and various city-states. Some of these entities preferring to live in isolation such as the Secluded Town of Greensward. The status quo could change if The Seven Northern Tribes of Quassus, the most powerful set of political entities on Dammerung, successfully unify in a powerful confederation (or federation, it depends on what happens). This may happen sooner than later considering the constant state of war on Lluvia as a result of Helia's continued hostile expansion.Geography
The geography of Dammerung is the most diverse of the three continental-islands of Quassus. Climates can range from dense evergreen forests in the west, to an arctic wilderness in the north, to a desert in the midlands. This desert is the Dulkėtas Dykuma. Additionally, Dammerung is home to several mountain chains, including the longest and greatest of the continent- the Assai Mountains. Along Dammerung's Occulus Sea shoreline lies the Untamed Shores, a set of three beeches each with their own perils.
