Consumption of Godflesh

Gods are very powerful and very real in the world of the Quickening. They are the link between Source, the life-force of the world, and the continents they wander. Few would dare to meddle with such important figures- with one exception.   The god who most commonly wanders the earth is Nuun'an. They are a passive god the god of life, rebirth, and travel who takes the form of a deer. Should a hunter or predator attack Nuun'an, they would find the god to be exceedingly mortal and unwilling to fight back. Killing Nuun'an is primarily a feat of tracking; the fight itself is easy.   If the god is killed, it won't be for long. They will bloom in another location in a month or less. The corpse of Nuun'an will have longer lasting effects, however.   Any creature who consumes meat from Nuun'an's body will be changed for the rest of their life. They will overflow with Source- in fact, the consumption of godflesh is the only way to heal a Source Leak. Animals, monsters, and people alike will need much less sustenance to be sated, requiring only small amounts of plants as meals. Predators no longer feel compelled to hunt out of hunger and may lose the will to fight over territory or resources. Beings who are not Sourced will become so after eating meat of Nuun'an, making this the only cure for Sourcelessness.   Due to the effects that dining on the god has, animals in places that Nuun'an frequents exhibit strange behaviors. At Blossom's Rest, animals are uncharacteristically tame. Both carnivores and herbivores can be seen peacefully grazing around the sanctuary.
