Blossom's Rest

Located on the mysterious continent of Asnil, Blossom's Rest is the only temple in the world dedicated to Nuun'an. The god themself is known to frequent the location, which is said to be so serene that it can quiet any restless soul. Those who pray at this location gain a sense of connection to the world that may change the rest of their lives.

Purpose / Function

Pilgrims come from around the world to visit the supposed birth place of the god of life, rebirth, and travel. While Nuun'an has less worshippers than any other Mid Echelon god, anyone who seeks a true connection with them travels to Blossom's Rest. It is not unheard of for visitors to catch a glimpse of the god on their visit.   Worship is not the only reason people travel to see the sanctuary in Asnil. Superstition surrounding the area identifies it as a place of healing for spiritual and mental ailments.   Blossom's Rest is, at the same time, a wildlife sanctuary. It is an ecological mystery as it houses virtually no predators. Predatory animals that make their home here are able to sustain themselves on plant life alongside herbivores.

Design

Blossom's Rest consists of a steeple and several open-air auditoriums that range in size. These stages are sparsely spread across the large forested wildlands that create the wildlife sanctuary portion of the temple.   The building is decorated with colorful windchimes that give the impression of flower petals constantly fluttering in the breeze. The clergy of Nuun'an do not prevent animals from entering the building and accomodations for this can be seen inside. Berry bushes are potted and grown near the doors and soothing water features serve as glorified drinking bowls. The floor is hard dirt as to not sever the connection between the congregation and nature around them.

Denizens

The most notable visitor to the temple is of course the god themself, Nuun'an. Nuun'an doesn't spend time in the steeple, instead choosing to roam the sanctuary in the form of a deer sprouting beautiful pink and white flowers.   Other note-worthy creatures include the population of herbivorous predators. Large carnivores in the area such as wolves or bears feel no need to hunt and devour their fellow animals. It is not uncommon to see two creatures that are natural enemies grooming each other in the sanctuary of Blossom's Rest. These animals are incredibly tame and practically no threat to people.

Defenses

Like the god Nuun'an themself, Blossom's Rest itself is defenseless. There is no military clergy that maintain the sanctuary, divine protection, or natural defenses. The deterrents from violently claiming the area is that any disturbance to the enviornment would ruin the delicate natural beauty of the location and superstitious fears of godly retrobution. The god in question, however, has no interest in combat or revenge.   The settlements surrounding the temple are a different matter. Locals take great pride in their patron god of peace and are willing to defend the temple despite Nuun'an's passivity. Any attempt to marr the beauty of the land is a sever crime; anything from poaching to littering can carry drastic consequences.   This has not stopped all threats. Less savory characters have visted Blossom's Rest with evil intentions- to kill a god. Some of these hunters have succeeded despite the best efforts of the locals. Blossom's Rest remains unchanged, however, as Nuun'an will bloom once again in a new location and return to the temple eventually.
