Volt Shot

Volt Shot is a powerful electric enchantment designed for ranged weapons and thrown projectiles. When cast, it charges the projectile with electrical energy. Upon impact, the enchantment releases a surge of lightning that deals electrical damage and sends shocks through the target’s body, numbing the affected area and potentially stunning them for a brief moment.
This momentary paralysis can create openings for the caster or their allies to strike, subdue, or capture the target. However, caution is advised. As with all lightning-based magic, Volt Shot becomes significantly more dangerous in conductive environments. Targets that are wet or wearing large amounts of metal will suffer greatly increased effects, so casters should always be aware of their surroundings and their enemy’s condition.

Effect

Volt Shot surrounds a projectile with crackling electricity, increasing its offensive power and adding lightning damage. On impact, the electrical discharge may temporarily stun the target for several seconds. Even when a full stun does not occur, most targets experience lingering muscle numbness in the struck area.

Gestures & Ritual

As the caster speaks the incantation “Volt Shot,” they slide two fingers along the weapon or projectile being enchanted, allowing electrical energy to flow into it. The caster then grips the weapon or draws back the bow, holding the charge until the projectile is released.
