Summon Hero Ritual

The Summoner Hero Ritual is a spell designed to bring a hero from a different dimension. Rather than summoning at random, the ritual draws forth an individual whose desires and will align with those of the summoner. As the hero crosses between dimensions, the ritual bestows upon them an ability of great power.   The ritual favors individuals who already possess exceptional strength, talent, or potential. Those summoned are often capable of standing alone against overwhelming forces, earning the reputation of a one-person army. In this way, the summoned individual becomes the hero of the one who called them forth. That was the idea.

Effect

To break the dimensional wall and forcibly call a hero to aid the Summoner.

Manifestation

The Summoner Hero Ritual can only be performed during a total solar eclipse. This rare celestial alignment allows the combined energies of the sun and moon to merge, creating the necessary synergy to form a gateway between dimensions. Without the eclipse, the ritual cannot function.   Extensive preparation is required before the eclipse begins. A magic circle must be drawn using the blood of every caster assisting in the ritual, binding their mana directly to the spell. Despite the scale of power involved, the circle itself is only large enough for a single person to sit within. This compact design is intentional, forcing the immense magical energy to be tightly contained and precisely controlled.   The ritual circle’s inscriptions are extraordinarily complex and must be carved with absolute precision. Any flaw in the design risks catastrophic backlash, capable of inflicting severe harm upon the primary summoner and potentially killing those aiding in mana control and energy stabilization.   The chanting and priming of the magic circle takes approximately one hour. During this time, the casters prepare the circle to resonate with the approaching eclipse. Once the chanting is complete, the gathered magical energy must be contained within the circle, placing immense physical and mental strain on all participants. This containment must be maintained until the moment of totality.   At the height of the solar eclipse, the main conjurer links the magic circle directly to the celestial alignment, activating the summoning. At this moment, the summoner must hold a clear image or desire of the type of hero they wish to call forth. If every step has been performed flawlessly and the energy remains stable, the ritual succeeds and the hero crosses the dimensional threshold to answer the summoning.

Discovery

The Summoner Hero Ritual was originally developed by a Kingdom of Slivina facing an imminent and overwhelming force during The War of Ash and Radiance. Anticipating an eventual invasion by the Dominion of Drakmor, the kingdom sought a means to call forth champions powerful enough to turn the tide of battle. The ritual’s completion was timed to coincide with a solar eclipse, a celestial event believed to weaken the barriers between dimensions and greatly amplify the spell’s effectiveness.   However, the Dominion of Drakmor launched their assault earlier than expected. The kingdom was destroyed before the eclipse occurred, and the ritual was never performed by its creators.   In the aftermath, both the Kingdom of Lumeris and the Dominion of Drakmor independently discovered the remains of the original research. Though neither faction had participated in the ritual’s creation, both found the spell to be fully complete and intact. Using this recovered knowledge, each kingdom adapted the ritual for their own purposes, becoming the first to successfully summon heroes from other worlds.   These summoned individuals would go on to play pivotal roles in the unfolding conflict, shaping the course of the war in ways the original creators never lived to witness.
