Stone Wall

Stonewall is a quick casting spell that summons a solid wall of stone from the ground near the caster. It provides temporary defensive cover, capable of blocking attacks or keeping enemies at bay during combat.   With sufficient mastery, Stonewall can be used to control the battlefield creating barriers, dividing enemies, or shielding allies. In the right formation and with proper party coordination, it can be an invaluable defensive tool.   However, careless use can be dangerous. Poor placement may trap the caster or allies, limiting movement and escape options. Casters are warned to remain aware of their surroundings and battlefield flow, as an improperly placed Stonewall can turn a defensive advantage into a deadly enclosure.

Effect

When cast, the caster channels mana into the ground nearby. Upon contacting solid earth, the magic conjures a wall formed from tightly packed stone and boulders.   The wall becomes self-sustaining for a short duration, capable of blocking physical attacks and resisting magical assaults for a limited time. It can be destroyed if it sustains sufficient damage or is targeted by spells or techniques specifically designed to break stone or structural barriers.   Once the wall is formed and the spell leaves the caster’s hands, its position and shape become fixed. The Stonewall remains in place until it is destroyed or its duration expires.
Gestures & Ritual
As the caster visualizes the magic circle in their mind and speaks the incantation, they channel their energy toward the chosen point on the ground. The magic circle manifests at that location, and arcane energy rapidly condenses, drawing stone upward to form the wall.
