Ascension Spire

Ascension Spire is a Dominion city built upon the ruins of Holding Star, the final capital of the fallen Kingdom of Slivina. Although Holding Star was never Slivina's original capital, it became the kingdom's most important city during the War Holding Star , serving as the center of its Hero Summoning research and its final line of defense against the Dominion of Drakmor .
After conquering the city, the Dominion recognized its true value. The ancient ruins beneath Holding Star contained the remains of an unknown civilization and the research that would eventually lead to the Hero Summoning Ritual. Rather than destroying the site, the Dominion claimed it as one of its greatest prizes.
To erase Slivina's legacy and mock its final hope of "reaching the stars," the Dominion renamed the city Ascension Spire. The new name represented their belief that they—not Slivina—would ascend beyond the heavens and claim the power of the Heroes.
The city was rebuilt into a heavily fortified military stronghold, magical research center, and archaeological site dedicated to studying the ancient Hero Ritual. Much of Slivina's surviving research, along with recovered records and captured scholars, was used to continue deciphering the ancient texts. Through these efforts, the Dominion eventually developed its own version of the Hero Summoning Ritual.

As one of the Dominion's most strategically valuable cities, Ascension Spire is protected by an extensive military presence.
Its defenses include:

• Elite Wyvern Rider squadrons for rapid aerial response.
• Long-range artillery mounted throughout the Star Tower.
• Powerful magical wards surrounding the city.
• Defensive barrier spells and magical traps positioned around the outer perimeter.
• Research divisions capable of responding to magical threats.

Together, these defenses make Ascension Spire one of the most secure military and research installations within the Dominion of Drakmor.

Points of interest

Star Tower

The Star Tower stands at the center of Ascension Spire and serves as the city's symbol of Dominion supremacy.
Constructed from dark iron and black stone, the tower spirals high into the sky with multiple staircases weaving around its exterior. Every ten feet, large platforms extend from the structure, each equipped with ballistae, cannons, trebuchets, or other long-range weapons capable of defending against both aerial and ground assaults.
The tower is not only a military installation but also a political statement. It symbolizes the Dominion's claim that it alone possesses the strength to reach the heavens and master the power of the stars.

Hero Summoning Ruins

Hidden beneath Ascension Spire lie the ancient ruins where Slivina first uncovered the forgotten Hero Ritual.
Following the conquest, the Dominion seized the site and transformed it into a secure research facility. Surviving scholars, recovered documents, and captured Slivinan mages were forced to continue their work under Dominion supervision.
By combining Slivina's decades of research with their own magical discoveries, Dominion scholars eventually reconstructed the ritual, allowing them to summon a Hero of their own.
The ruins remain one of the Dominion's most heavily guarded secrets.
