Zandari War
The Zandari war is quite possibly the deadliest war in recorded history with casualties in excess of one Quadrillion (1,000,000,000,000,000). this is due to the extensive use of WMDs and other incredibly powerful weapons.
The Conflict
Prelude
In the hundred years leading up to the war, the Zandari empire had successfully conqured the last independent empire which put them in control of the entire galaxy. this empire was known as the Voorgans and they didn't like the idea of being under the control of what they considered to be a foreign power. so they easily bribed a greedy race of insectoids called the Kajithry to revolt against the Zandari Empire. thus causing the war.
Battlefield
The Kajithry were one of the most numerous races in the galaxy and so when they revolted they were able to fight on many planets and almost no world was left untouched by war. additionally both sides deployed countless other races in their war of attrition. sometimes even sending entire races to die for nothing as a distraction.
Conditions
Conditions on the frontlines were beyond grim as across the galaxy and average of 1,329,964,090 lives were lost every day for over 1,850 years.
The Engagement
The war began with a revolt on the planet of Kyras (assumed to be modern Cyrus) where the rebels managed to push out the Zandari Imperials within a year. but when the Zandari Empire returned, they destroyed the entire population of the planet with a "Hell Torch" bomb. this slaughter outraged the other Kajithry in across that galaxy and soon the mass slaughter began. billions died every day and no serious ground was ever held by either side for very long. most of the details of the war have been lost but we can assume that eventually both sides lacked the manpower to fight and the conflict ceased. it is said that there were only a few thousand of each race left when the war ended.
Outcome
The outcome of the war is widely debated but it is generally assumed that neither side really won and both just stopped fighting out of fear of going extinct.
Aftermath
in the ashes of the burning galaxy many new empires were formed. including a small burgeoning kingdom... this kingdom was populated mainly by a small race known as the Walren.
