Waste Ghoul
Basic Information
Anatomy
Waste Ghouls are bipedal creatures than stalk the surface of Varn. Surprisingly intelligent as the monstrosities of the planet go, Waste Ghouls often hunt in groups, taking food back to their communities to feed their young. Thin bones grow all in and through the creatures, resembling vines wrapping around their limbs. Their fingers are tipped with bone claws that never stop growing in twisting patterns, almost looking as though they have tentacles for fingers when in reality it is just the haphazard way in which they grow. When they grow too long and start to get in the way, the ghouls will painfully snap them off. In addition, they will emit haunting screams and shrieks when hunting their unfortunate prey, sometimes almost sounding like incoherent speech as their peruse the victims, switching between running and two legs and all fours, though they have no known organized language patterns. When they finally take down their target, slashing and biting at their flesh until they collapse, the quarry is then drained of blood, their bone barrow also being sucked into the ghouls via their hollow claws.
Genetics and Reproduction
The creatures lay spherical hardened bone eggs, which upon hatching become the external skull of the creature, growing as the ghoul does.
Dietary Needs and Habits
As Waste Ghouls cannot digest more solid forms of food, they prefer to drink the blood and other fluids of their quarries, tearing off muscles and organs which then they crush to a pulp with rocks to make them edible.
Additional Information
Average Intelligence
These creatures are sentient and have actually even been observed forming very primitive communities.
