Qualifications

any ship with a Walren citizen captain of at least 10 guns can be given a "documentum legalis piratica" that allows that ship to fly under walren naval banners. ships must also be legally registered with the imperial maritime bureau.

Career Progression

Some captains can actually earn a commission in the imperial navy by serving 100 or more years as a Privateer.

Payment & Reimbursement

Each privateer crew gets to keep 20% of all military goods captured and 100% of civilian goods. additionally crew and officers will retire with a military pension from the empire and the families of those crew killed in combat will also be reimbursed. any damage to privateer vessels is covered by the Navy and any
