Session 27: Pastel rainbow and flowers Report
General Summary
Visiting Cralrath Ravoqrin
We head to the tower and are welcomed inside with an old wizened crone with one white eye and one green. We enter into a large kitchen where she hands us a plate of warm fresh cookies on an ornate plate.
Her name is Mama Mudcradle. We ask her for help to breathe underwater so we can go to the City of Darkness. One city on each side of the country- one near Portcall, and the other between Edrax and Trisoris. Galan hands over the map he copied to show where we’re trying to go.
She wants a favour before she makes the spell for us - wants us to get her these fruit that look like glowing peaches from a tree in a cave- fruits are called “Peaches of Valour”. The storm surges are a rock and cliff formation protruding from the sea- you can’t miss them. Once you get to them you head inland, until you reach a forest. Don’t walk into the water in the cave, there are plants that don’t act normally, and creatures who don’t like people taking the peaches. She wants at least 5 peaches.
Went and bought a basket and rations for the entire team while they went to the temple to see if there was any quicker way to get this spell scroll.
Yuki and I go to meet a dragonborn in the academic district who might know something about Yuki’s master. It turns out his master came through here only a month ago; he is an old friend of the dragonborn. Yuki’s master has been travelling and looking into the dreams about darkness and fire, apparently he’s known about them for several years and has been looking into them for a long time.
Heading back to the temple the next day - the teacher can’t provide the spell scroll we need in such short notice. Galan attempts to get blessed by a deity but its not something we can make happen.
- has known master jao for quite some time
- has been just a few weeks (four or five) since he came through on a visit
- doesn't know where he went afterwards. as Master Jao has been telling it he's travelling been all over. he goes wherever things are taking him
- MJ has 'never wanted to settle down, but it seems to have gotten worse
- said a lot of things. 'likes his own voice'
- told Cralrath a little bit about Yuki & Chozza
- assumed MJ told his students why he left, is suprised he didn't
- MJ's been looking into people dreaming about fire and darkness, seems to have been going on for some years, though its gotten worse/more frequent in recent years
- at first MJ didn't put much weight into it, put its gotten more and especially people associated with Ignis Primo seem to be getting these dreams. MJ wanted to look into it and figure out what's been going on, to see if its actually something, or if its just 'humbuck' as MJ says
- there have been many others (though they don't really know how many, as that's not necessarily sth people come out and talk about, and also there are no organized records or anything like that)
- MJs been asking around for years now. has gotten more over the last few months. MJ suspects it might not just be dreams, but messages
- Cralrath doesn't know how much stock he himself is putting into that theory
- in his opinion MJ is a 'strange man'. Maybe he didn't tell Yuki about it because he didn't want to burden him - or maybe he was just a dick. Cralrath says you never know with him
- Chozza didn't come by his place
- (Essa speculates that Master Jao is also heading for the City of Darkness)

- stories of ignis primo's island - you kinda have to figure out what is rumour, what might be history based, as it is all a bit legendary
- Yuki tells him both about the vision about the island of ignis primo, as well as about Tanabrea burning.
- Cralrath doesn't think Yuki was the one who burned it down, as tehre are many with latent fire abilities have dreams and towns/cities are not burning left and right around them
- if its messages, he tells Yuki that opening his mind to receiving them might be helpful. also says that some of the dreams/visions might just be needed to be taken literally. like flowery language in novels - like purple prose. in general direct 'content' though theres stuff around it. not (just) metaphors.
